I was a member of Vizzed for a long time before I ever signed up for Steam. I had only heard a little about Steam before I signed up for it, and was hesitant because I didn't know if our computer could handle most Steam games. I am glad to say that it can, at least to a certain extent, and I game as much on Steam as I do on Vizzed these days.

Which did you sign up for first, and why?

I signed up for Vizzed first because Steam didn't really attract my attention during that time. Vizzed has way more games than Steam plus the old school games are free (if you have enough viz/special items to help you). I like both Vizzed and Steam but just in some different ways.

One thing I appreciate about Steam that Vizzed no longer has (but used to have with GB/GBC/GBA games) is cloud saves. In many games, I can play on a computer, save, and pick up my progress on another computer. This was invaluable when I was on Campus a lot. I got to play both on campus and occasionally at home, beating some games I had been into for a while. Much of my time was spent on Campus, though. The progress I'd have on a game and Steam was usually wiped from the computer I was using it on the next day. However, my progress was saved.

At the time, I was disappointed that I was forced to install something to play a game that I had bought a physical copy of. But that winter I managed to notice their huge sale on the last day, and grabbed a copy of Terraria. I had a blast with that game, and I've been a huge fan of Steam ever since.

I signed up for vizzed first. I didn't actually get steam until mid-2013, but i was using alt accounts on vizzed since at least 2010. However, i would say I've amassed more games on steam, since there are only a handful of retro games (non-hacks) that truly interest me.

I think i came across steam when i bought a football manager game and the disc no longer worked so i wondered what this steam thing was and found out it was a place that was essentially a game database/shop... I quickly fell in love with steam and it's sales... 

I pretty much use Vizzed for the forums and to chat to old friends and to make new ones.. Steam i use for making new friends as well but more so for playing games... A ton lot of games one might say

It's hazy..I have a steam account that's around 4 years old that's inactive and my active account is 2 years old. My Vizzed account was also made 4 years ago. I'm probably going to say steam cause my Vizzed account was made in December and I dunno when my steam was made.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
