Please read and follow all instructions in this post. Send your completed applications to the Global Moderators' inbox. Please do not send applications to moderators, individual global moderators, or Davideo7.

Before you read ANY further. I want you to read the requirements. I will explain why we have each of the requirements below. If you don't meet one of the requirements, don't be surprised if you aren't picked.

-Age: 14+
-100+ posts a month
-Log on at least 3 days a week on average
-Trusted or Elite

Why do we require our locals at 14+?

It's simply a matter of maturity. We've had 13 year old mods who have worked out though... so if you are 13, it's not the end of the world. Some people are much more mature than their age indicates.

Why do we require 100+ posts a month?

This is just a matter of activity. We need to know we can count on you to be active at all times. As the local moderator manager, I watch this and staff points closely. If you miss quota you and I get to have a talk.

Why do we require 3 days a week of activity?

Again, it's simply a matter of activity. We need to know we can count on you being active as a moderator. If you stop showing up you will stop being a local mod.

Why do we want only Trusted or Elite members?

Generally, very few users do not make it to Trusted. If you aren't Trusted, it's probably simply because you don't post very much or haven't been around very long. Site Staff may apply too, however we do not want to take too many from the RGR.

Note: If you fail to answer any question (Especially the first one) your application will be thrown out.

Also, please have the courtesy to leave the questions on the app, and bold them to make it easier to distinguish where the question ends and your answer begins. This isn't necessary but it does show ability to follow directions and attention to detail.

-----------------

If you read all the above, and understand, please state that you understand.

Do you have past experience as a moderator? If so, where and for how long?

How often are you online, and therefore, able to mod?

What makes a good moderator?

What can you offer us as a moderator?

What forums are you most interested in moderating?

Is there anything you'd like to tell us that could help us get a better idea of who you are or why you are a good fit? Maybe it's a short story about what brought you here and why you want to help, maybe it's just a little about you. If you have something you think we'd be interested in, put it below

In your own words, what is a
(a)Local Moderator?

(b)Global Moderator?

(c)Administrator?

A user, Davidlegacygreeme73, has been caught insulting another member heavily in chat. What do you do?

If a thread titled "How do you exercise" is in the Polls & Questions sub-forum, "Light hearted", where would you move it? (Think carefully and read the rules of that forum)

What do you think is spammy?

What timezone do you live in?

If someone asks you for help about the RGR, what do you do?

I have a question. When you say "Age 14+" and you say "We've had 13 year old mods who have worked out," does that mean that a 13-year-old could still apply? The reason I'm asking is because you said that you must be 14+ to apply, but then you said that mature 13-year-olds have been good mods before.

So if a 13-year-old applies, is their application automatically "thrown out?"

TheFadedWarrior :
geeogree :

As the person who originally worded the post long long ago in a galaxy far away...

The key sentence here is "If you don't meet one of the requirements, don't be surprised if you aren't picked."

The word "requirement" is very lax. It should really be more of a desired specification, but I figured the average user of Vizzed would have gotten confused with the terminology.

Anyone can apply. It's not like the globals can ban you for applying (unless your application is inflammatory).

100 posts a month, I do not see why that would constitute some in being active you can still be active around the site and still not post. I mean I have been here about 5 years and only posted 172 times yet I am still active.

dragonslayer444 :

This was written before the CP system was instituted. Before the advent of CP, it wasn't so clear cut to see how active a person really was, since Globals don't have access to log in information.

It's not the only indication of activity, but generally speaking the people who post 100 times or so a month are "definitely" active. As a side note, generally, locals who post are more likely to do their jobs. (As well as promote further activity site wide, as their other job)

In the end, it's not a "requirement", if things are run the same. It's just a good thing to have on your resume. A moderator who posts and does their job is generally more appealing than a moderator who doesn't post, but does their job.

geeogree : I was thinking, you said 13 year old mods did work out. Does that mean there are active mods who started when they were 13, or does that mean there were 13 year old mods who are now retired?

Also, to avoid confusion about my first post for the people who haven't read my original post, I thought you were supposed to answer the questions in this thread but that wasn't the case, I sent a real application after that happened.

The Local Mod Applications are now closed. We will be spending the next couple of days sorting, reading, and deciding on the local moderators to add to the team. Thanks to those who have applied.
