Is Ditto a failed experiment of Mew?

Wow, this really is possible! They have the same weight/height, and can both learn Transform! But how is it possible it's as far as a failed experiment? The answer is here!
First thing that probably comes to mind when you think about a failed experiment is probably a green pile of gunk, showing pity as it rumbles and roams around the place like a gross and slightly faster snail. Well, Ditto may not be green and all too gooey, but he still meets some traits. And the traits of another Pokémon, of course! Let's see how Mew and Ditto are alike!
Well, Ditto is purple and a little mixed in with pink. Like violet. Mew isn't very different, but only that it's more pink and mixed with purple slightly.  They are the same height, and maybe even in weight, and they are the same exact color when shiny! They are also both genderless. I think that would be enough explaining why they are so much alike, I think we're about to cut to the chase. I wouldn't be surprised if Ditto was a failed experiment of Mew, trying to make Mewthree, so they could try again on making a stronger Mew but with a courageous and warm heart, but once again could not make it. Poor scientist.
What do y'all folks think? Is Mewthree just a blob now, or is Ditto just a floating goo from nowhere? Reply to this thread!

I have seen this theory. There are about ten billion Pokemon theories going around and most are stupid but this one is one of the few that I think is plausible. They have the same stats, both learn transform, both same color and shinny color, Ditto is found where Mew experiments took place, it kinda adds up to being pretty plausible but that don't really make it true. I can draw lines to random stuff all day but that don't mean they are connected. I really like Ditto but he does look like some kind of failed experiment.

Well this one theory of ditto I highly doubt because if it was a failed experiment then how are there so many ditto out in to the wild unless they just failed and ended up making a ditto a ton of times.

I would have to say yes because if you look at their stats mew and ditto are around the same height and weight, they can both learn the move transform and learn any move and also because mew contains the dna of every single pokemon while ditto can breed with just about any pokemon with an exception for legendaries. Those are just some facts I have picked up that I think are worth consideration that mew and ditto are related in some way. It really is an interesting topic because there have been a lot of hints about it in pokemon...

Yes I think so because in the cave where you find mewtwo they get more common as you get nearer to him/her and they also have the same color when shiny the move transform by leveling and the same base stats yes this is very possible that ditto is a failed experiment of mew before mewtwo.

There is proof, but I don't really think it is. If it is actually said, then I would believe it, but not now.

In my 9 Years of pokemon fandom I did not believe this theory until recently. I just started to think about it and There were even clues in the games!

The stats are the same, And Ditto just looks like it.

I actually think this theory could be sort of plausible it's one of the very few pokemon theories I could see actually being true. However I don't get in how every failed experiment would result in a ditto you would think there would be different variations.

Actually Ditto is a failed experiment of mew. There are several clues through-out the Pokémon universe. One such clue is the Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo strikes back. In the movie when in the beginning of the movie and in the middle of the movie when team rocket finds the video logs. Clue number two is actually in Pokémon Adventures (for those who know what I'm talking about here good job, for those who don't got XREADER.NET and read it. Its a manga.) Blaine actually says that the closet they got to mew was a shape-shifting Pokémon with no set shape. Also, as another poster has said, the games actually hinted at it.
I am one to believe that Ditto is a failed experiment. There is bound to be some kind of failure when you are messing with genetics, whether it is human or fictional Pokémon.
