Local Mods : I'm not completely sure if this is the right place, if it isn't then please move it to another forum.

Hey there, it's juuldude with another thread! This time I'm asking you which language you would like to speak! There are only three rules for this thread:

1: You may pick ONE language, so not that you go talking about speaking to the whole world and naming every language.
2: Any language may be picked, even old ones that don't exist anymore or languages like Old Greek and Latin.
3: If it's a language you're currently learning on school/college/the university or for your work, you may tell about it but you may not pick it. For example, I learn French and German at school so I'm not allowed to pick those ones.

I would like to learn Italian! Why you ask? Well, first of all, it's an amazing country with good weather, nice nature, very good food and the language sounds very nice. And second of all, I have family in Italy who will never try to learn Dutch and although some know English (the kids since they learn(ed) it at school) it would be very nice to speak to them all.

I would really like to learn French. It just seems like an amazing language to me, I love how it sounds, just everything about it seems fantastic to me, but I really have no place to go to actually learn it, which is the bad part. :/

maguc : You didn't pick Dutch! XD
Just kidding, French is a great language in my opinion and I want to visit France but my family doesn't want that, my friends tell that some French people are very weird (sorry if there's someone French here on Vizzed, I don't want to hurt you this way but it's what my friends say) but I'm the only person of my class who hasn't been to France at least once, so I don't like that Anyways, you could always order a book from the Internet to learn it

I will be going with Japanese. Why? I love the language. It sounds absolutely amazing. I also aspire to be able to travel there, and possibly live there, even. I have been engrossed in quite a few aspects of the culture. That is not limited to the games, the manga, and the anime, but also the food, the history, and other such things. Is Japan the best place in the world? Of course not. It has its downsides, just like any other country, but the downsides it holds seem to be tolerable, at least.

imamonster : That can be hard I guess, I have lots of Dutch family members I don't know or who I have never met.

sop281 : Japanese is very different from English, Dutch or Italian (I think of these three Italian has the most resemblances in words but that's all) but thanks to Inazuma Eleven I understand a few things in Japanese now. I read a column from somebody in the newspaper who went to Tokyo recently and was amazed how clean the city was, since the Japanese are just very clean people who clean everything I really love sushi, I would like to visit Japan once. But one of my friends finds it the weirdest place in the world, so I better not say that to him

I guess sop beat me to it.....I too would choose Japanese for reasons. I love how the way that they talk. I still am having a hard time learning it fully as I need help...I would rather get to write down the words in English like *baka* for instance that's stands for idiot or stupid. If I can get more advance words. Then I would be able to learn it properly. I plan on going to Japan one day. I am allowed my mother said but first things first. Knowing the language. I want to learn all of the cakes that they bake, because it is full of sweets and chocolate only! ^-^

Al Bhed language from Final Fantasy X. Or from a real language I would pick Latin, even though it's dead language it would be cool to be able to speak it.

Eniitan : The way they talk is very special but also very difficult. I would like to write the words in English too instead of characters, since using letters is easier. First things first, your mother is right, if you don't know the language you probably will get lost or something like that and I don't want to happen to you! Did you ever have a Japanese cake? I never had. Demo, maji de kansha for your post!

I would really like to speak Spanish, Italian, Russian or Japanese, I don't know why but I would really like to more than just English. I know I would have to work hard for it though, I already know most of Spanish and the verbs and different ways of using it in the past, preterite, imperfect, subjunctive and future, and Italian is very similar to Spanish in many ways.

Nonetheless, these are some languages that catch my fancy and I would really love to learn and know how to speak.

I don't know why but German and Swiss are two languages that I would like to learn at some point. Swiss might be hard though, from what I understand there is multiple dialects of it used in different parts of the country. I'd have to do some research on what dialect I would need to learn I was to visit certain parts of the country if I ever make it to Europe for a little tourism and family tree research. Not only do I like how uniquely commanding German sounds but it would also be quite helpful if I ever visit Germany one day so I don't have to rely on some phrase book. And, surprisingly, I've liked all the German food I've eaten so far.

I'd want to learn Tagalog. I'm actually studying Spanish (Latin American), so I can learn Tagalog. The reason behind that is Tagalog is the language of my people, and I have some relatives in the Philippines. Someday, I'd like to visit the islands and go site seeing with my family! I know most of Filipinos there know English, but I think it'd be great if I learned the language also.

I would love to speak Hebrew because of the history of that language. Not to mention I am a Christian and the old testament was written in Hebrew

Hey everybody is very eager to learn! I'm happy to hear that so I'll respond to all of you

Cactuar : I learn Latin at school so you can always ask me for some words that you might want to know I don't know the Al Bhed language from Final Fantasy X, what is it like?

Eniitan : That sounds very nice, I'm getting very curious as well now. You're welcome, since you said something in Japanese I thought about picking something easy that I knew as well

deg2000 : Oh, that's very cool! And useful. And it's true, Latin isn't dead, there still are many schools teaching it (like mine .

Razor-987 : On my elementary school, I had to learn Spanish with a girl from my teacher because I never did enough in class (everything was boring, so my teachers thought I was dumb but after we had a test I had a score of a blimming 99%!!! and my teachers tried to encourage me to do new things) but the method was awful, the grammar and words were scrambled through each other and I gave up Spanish after 'tarea 6'. I don't know if there are things between Spanish and Italian that are very similar, but if it would then you might have a step ahead for learning Italian.

Chindogu : That's true, Swiss has many dialects in different parts of the country. Germany is a great land, but I don't know why you think it sounds commanding. And the German food is great, I agree

Gamin'Gal : Another Japanese fan! Why would you use it more than French? Anyways, I'm happy to see many people take Japanese.

Kuti_Kat : I have never heard of the language Tagalog, what is it like? It's cool you have relatives in the Philippines! Yeah, it's useful if you know the language so you could go sightseeing without problems

tornadocam : That's a special reason you want to learn Hebrew. It would be very useful if you know it so you could read the old testament.

Come on guys, no one picked Dutch yet I would like to see if somebody would want to learn that
