Hello guy's,For anyone who saw the English dub of attack on titan tonight.What are your thought's on the dub cast/

Personally i think they did pretty well compared to the original Japanese(And i speak Japanese and English).Though i have a few..Gripes.

Eren sound's a bit whiny in this dub,Although i think it's just because its the guy's first time doing voice acting for the specific character,And he will get better overtime.Much like how it took a while for the English voice actor of light Yagami from death note to get good in the role of light.And to his credit.He does very well in the emotional scenes.But he appears to have trouble with talking casually.He seems to sound whiny all the time.

Also.Mikasa sounds a bit...Odd,I don't really know how to describe it.It's almost as if she is..Lost,Or bored.Like she does not care about the character.Okay,Maybe i should not go to those length's.Once again.Maybe she will slowly start to slip into the role.Let's see where this goes i guess.Plus these are just the child actors.

Anyway.Your thought's?

You know...I should go with a more "Attack on titan themed" Picture,But screw it.I love Asura to much.

To be honest, I thought they were mediocre, at best. The characters sounded... off. After watching the anime, and listening to it in Japanese, I felt that the English cast did not quite pull off the roles and sounds of the characters. I guess I am a little bit biased though, as the only English dubbed anime that I actually like was from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Other than that, I listen to all of it in Japanese with English subtitles... So, take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

I really don't like Eren's voice. Kind of upset that they chose that person to play his voice. Hopefully like you said that he gets into the character more and not sound like a wimp all the time. In Jap Eren doesn't sound like an wimp at all he always sounds determined to reach his goal and I always got hyped whenever he took action under extreme circumstances. I will continue to watch the show in English just to see how it progresses.

I think the voices sound pretty good. But then again I'm a dub watcher, I always watch the dubbed version so I'm more used to watching anime in English. Honestly if I tried watching it subbed it'd probably sound weird to me because I'm not used to listening to Japanese or watching with subtitles.

Unlike with Dragon Ball Z where I cannot stand the Japanese voices, the ones of Attack on Titan were pretty good, and I really only watch English dubs so that I can get a better experience. Sure, I will watch it, if only because the voice actor for Henry is the voice actor for Eren, but meh. The Japanese voices will forever be THEIR voices in my head. Honestly I'm more excited about a potential season 2, whenever that might be, or might not be...You never know...
Well, those are my thoughts on that particular subject, I'm gonna go around the rest of this forum now and see what else I can post.
