My favorite Pokemon game was Pokemon stadium,because of the 3D effect at the time. Other than that,just the basic red,blue,and yellow version. I grew up with those! haha

it's quite complicated, but to me the first one i received was most likely diamond. Otherwise the first Pokemon game i played was my friends Pokemon emerald. my favorite would be heart gold for the DS because it gave me a lot of good memories.

Gamin'Gal : I will not say that it is my favorite, but probably my second favorite. Anyways, I agree with you. The game definitely deserves a sequel, but it probably did not get enough sales to warrant them making a sequel to the game.

Besides Gale of Darkness, I believe that my favorite would have to be Pokemon Firered. I loved that game to death. I am positive that I have spent more than a thousand hours on that game alone, on multiple saves. It was fantastic, and it has my favorite art style out of any of the games (aside from the cool-looking Gale of Darkness). 

Foe me would be old school ones such as poke yellow, crystal, and blue. Then I loved emerald when it came out so that was my most fav pokemon game to play. I really enjoyed of how the game was layed out that's, why. ^-^

X and Y. I was impressed with the visuals and design of Kalos. Much better than any of the others previous.

Well my favorite Pokémon was Pokemon Red for Gameboy color and then I got Silver for the same console. I liked those games a lot, they had everything I needed from those games.

Diamond is was and always will be my first and favorite game in the series.

let's see for the main core series it would most likely be (in my opinion)
1.Heart gold
2.X/Y and B2/W2 (the latter felt like a major improvement on B/W)
3.Probably All of the games that are on the gameboy, color, and advance.
if it's spin offs or side stories then most likely
1. XD and Colosseum
2. Trozei (for some reason)
3. Stadium (was an interesting game)
the rest are good, and for the gens i like all of them

Barring rom hacks, I suppose my favorite that I have played is Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team.

I mean, you have the ability to collect all Pokémon up to Gen III without needing to go to events or trade. The exclusives to the Blue version can be brought in with Wonder Mail codes, so this is a great stand alone game.

Not to mention the fact that you get to play as the Pokémon instead of a trainer. I liked that a lot.

Pokemon sapphire. It was the first pokemon game I ever played i love it. Yes there is nostalgia involved but it is also the best in quality in my opinion. I am so glad they are remaking Ruby/Sapphire.

My favorite was one of the classic Pokémon games Pokémon yellow because you were pretty much ash ketch'em you got your pikachu as the only starter like the anime and you could get all three starters just like ash did so by the time you get four starters pikachu,charmander,sqirtle,and bulbasuar you still had two spaces free in your party which I prefer to fill with his pokemon ( butterfree and pidgeotto ) and its fun pretty much being ash that's why its my favorite

Gold/Silver for nostalgic reasons. First games in general I ever played, without those games I don't think I would have ever become a gamer in the first place.

Besides that, I would say Emerald, since there is so much stuff to do, and Gen III is probably my favorite of them all (So hyped for their remakes!)

*Nostalgia glasses on* I loved the Hoenn games. Ruby was my first Pokémon game so I have a lot of nostalgic attachment to it. Don't really have as much attachment to Sapphire but it was still one of my earlier Pokémon games and an awesome game. Then Emerald was the enhanced version of Ruby and Sapphire. I love 3rd Gen's region, story, Pokémon, it was when I caught my first shiny, etc. From a purely nostalgic standpoint Emerald is probably my favorite.
*Nostalgia glasses off* As much as I love 3rd Gen, it doesn't really compare to the newer games. The newer games have much improved features and details which unfortunately outclass the older games. The newer games just have more to them, I mean look at X and Y. They have so many amazing features like character customization and Friend Safari, and they've set way to many more amazing features to come in future games. Plus they're in 3D. Features aside I have to admit I loved 5th Gen's story, possibly more then 3rd Gen's story. Thankfully though Ruby and Sapphire are getting remakes, which will put the awesomeness of 3rd Gen together with the awesomeness of 6th Gen. Now, without nostalgia in the way I'd say X is probably my current favorite.

Though, I still love pretty much every Pokémon game I've played.
