Each day there will be 4 Jerseys you can compete for:
Yellow Jersey: Most words in a day
Blue Jersey: Most posts in a day
Red Jersey: Biggest post in a day
Green Jersey: Most 30+ word posts in an hour


If you get 1st place in a Jersey for a day, you get to "wear" that Jersey the following day. To "wear" it means that the background of your username will have a unique background graphic. Only the top 5 places of each Jersey gets points, 1st gets 5 and 5th gets 1. Whoever has the most points for any Jersey at the end of the competition gets to wear that Jersey for the entire next month. If you have more than 1 jersey, your jersey receives stripes for each jersey color you own.


Along with the Jerseys are Banners that change your username color. They basically represent who has the most points total:
Rainbow Banner: Whoever has the most points so far in the competition
White Banner: New member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who has signed up in the past 3 months)

You'll be DQ'd if:
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in one of the following forums: Crazy House, Vizzed Market, Polls and Questions, Newbie Forum
-You copy content from other websites or other posts
-You use the "tabbing" technique to make a bunch of posts in a short amount of time
-The number of posts you scored toward the Green Jersey is more than half of your total posts made for the day

Additional Rules:
-If you get DQd just once from a Jersey, you can no longer get points for that Jersey for the rest of the month
-Posts in the Newbie and Crazy House forums do not count toward the Green Jersey


We will be very strict from now on with the Tour de Vizzed.


Tour de Vizzed Update: From now on, when someone gets DQ'd, they will no longer show up as a DQ'd user and wont take up a spot on the top 5 for the Jersey they were DQ'd from.

New Rule If more than 25% of your daily posts are made in a single thread, than you'll be DQ'd from Yellow, Blue and/or Green Jersey.

We probably should've delayed the pokemon osmium for this very reason.

Speaking of delaying games, I'm so glad I moved Vizzed Survivor to next month.

I expect a metric ton of spam this month.

legacyme3 : Well I'm pretty motivated to hand out a lot of DQs so hopefully we can eliminate all the spammers right away. I love this competition and I don't want it to continue with the bad reputation that it has.

I still think a lot of the bad reputation comes not just from the spam, but the moderation, and the lack of a break period between competitions.

Although, spam has always been an issue with the TDV, always.

Everyone who is participating, read this thread before you make reviews or post in the review forum. I will also note that if you post in a bunch of review threads saying generally the same "it was good/okay/bad, here are some tips to make it better" posts everyday, I will treat it just the same as when a user does that in the newbie introduction threads.

I am going to be very strict with the reviews. I am not going to let the review (or guides forum, for that matter) be a place that you just say a bunch of fluffy nothing to make your reviews longer just to earn the yellow and red jersey. The other mods of the review forum are going to do the same. on't let this be the cause of DQ's this month.

Well, I do wish there was actually a longer break in between TDVs so the board can be more relaxed. Having the TDV very often just makes it less special & less unique and more of a dreadful spam fest. Especially considering that there is some type of competition going on every month. (TDV, posting VCS, CP VCS)  But ehh... No reason for me to complain since I have competed in the TDV before. And again, everything has it's up's and down's.

I'm probably not going to participate this month unless I randomly feel motivated to grab a jersey for a day, but I'm sort of doubtful on that this time. Good luck to whoever is going to get themselves killed in competing this month.

(Also, If I do make reviews this month, it is for my staff quota so don't go crazy over it for the TDV) 

Looks like another month of spam rolls around *sigh* at least there are going to be a much tighter regulation on spam which is pretty reassuring and hopefully it can cut back on the spam, or possibly eliminate all of it. I might compete or I might not, this is going to be a busy month for me since exams are rolling around soon, so I have to get cracking with the studying. If the competition is actually fair within the first few days, I might just put forth some effort into getting yellow. We'll see though. Best of luck to everyone. I am pretty excited about this Tour de Vizzed because the staff will be very strict with the rules! I expect a lot of DQ's to be given this month. I plan on going for the yellow and blue jerseys, which are the easiest for me to get.

I'll definitely be competing this month. To the best of my ability, at least. There will be spam, of course, but I'm crossing my fingers in hopes that at least some of the spammers will get rooted out.

mourinhosgum : who knows zander is pretty stubborn and guess who's in the lead in almost everything hmm Zander is!  i'm glad were getting very strict this time i bet there will be about 20+ Dq's this time and i hope for it. 

mourinhosgum : At first, it was going to begin , but it took a while to get the courage to ask David for the announcement. then i changed it to halfway through april, but so may people joined, thaf i jusf started it.

I will be going all out for blue, because i have a persnal monthly postquota, and yelliw becuase i plan on having most of myposts at 100 words or more. i will not be specifically goling all out for red and green, but i do hope fo hover somwhere in the top 5 each day.

This was, in fact, the competition that hooked me to Vizzed, so I'm probably one of the happier Staff members to see it up again.

And it's a good thing I've been here 91 days now. I'd feel embarrassed to be on the new user list. =P

Anyway, I hope to see a fun competition!! Let's just keep it fair and everyone will enjoy.

I might actually try to win an overall Jersey this month. I have never won the Tour de Vizzed or an Overall Jersey so if time allows me midway through the month, I might take this TdV a little more seriously compared to previous TdVs.

Oh No. It's that time of year again! I hope most of the competitors are aware of the consequences for taking the easy way to victory. It can make or break you.

I will probably be very inactive. I am just getting one of those "head starts" for the first day.

By the way I have a suggestion. If a person is in 6th and a person in 1st gets DQ'ed, should 6th get 5th or something to make it fair? The previous TDV's didn't to it like that. Just want to make a suggestion here.

I bet there will also be many DQ's in this TDV. I'm guessing 18 in total for the whole month.

This probably isn't the best time to ask but "Most words in a day" is that in replies as well as your own threads or just your own threads?

Yesterday was pretty intense. I fought for the blue jersey. Zander would have taken it for sure, but I guess he saw my sheer tenacity and gave up. Either that or he had something else to do. Either way, I'm happy with the blue.
