Do you collect games for new or newish video game consoles? I don't at all but I was thinking I might get a semi new console and some games for it. I have no new consoles and haven't played very many new games in general. I owned an Xbox 360 at one time. Got a few games for it, hated it and the games and gave it to my brother in law. I am not sure if I want to maybe casually collect newer games or not. So do you? Why do you collect em, give me all that good stuff, you might sway me to do it or not.

zanderlex : That is one of the main problems I have with collecting new games. I wouldn't be able to get many at all, 60 bucks is a lot of money for me. I don't like the games as much ether, when it comes right down to it, I could ether pay 5 bucks for a Genesis game I would play and enjoy for a life time or 60 bucks for a new game I would ether play once or play in till I beat it and never play it again. I kinda want to get more Gamecube games though.

GenesisJunkie : I know exactly what you mean. When I bought these games, I played one and loved it, but I barely got through a few levels before I pulled it out to play a different game. Then after I played each one for just a bit, I went back to the original games.

I'm a bit under whelmed with my "collection". With my Wii u and 3DS, I have about 5 games for each.  I've tried to obtain more games, but  boredom and lack of interest kept me off until recently.

GenesisJunkie : No not really. Except the PS2 and PS3 i collect for those systems now and then.

My PS3 is the only 7th-gen console that I own. I don't have a Xbox 360 or a Wii. And I don't have any 8th-gen consoles yet, but my plan is to buy a PS4 this summer using the remainder of my tax refund money... that is, if there's any left after pimping the car I just bought ;-)

Anyway, I bought my PS3 last year and I already have 19 games for it, so I'm getting a steady collection going. Now is the best time to start buying PS3 (and Xbox 360 and Wii) games because with everyone focused on the PS4, used games for the PS3 are going for dirt cheap pretty much everywhere, and I would imagine that they're only going to get even cheaper for the next two to four years while they're in that limbo status between "current gen" and "collectible old games". This is exactly how I got my PS2 collection to be so big, so quickly... on nearly all of my 74 PS2 games, if I had found them any cheaper, they would have been free. Nearly all of them were less than $5, and I mostly collect RPGs, not cheap games like old versions of Madden. (Nay, I use those as frisbees!)

Zurenriri : Yeah right now is the best time to pick up last generation video games. I really wish I cared about the PS3 or Xbox 360, I would one of them and some games. If I even end up collecting new games it wouldn't be that new, it would be Gamecube and maybe Xbox, I have never had an Xbox or played any games for it so it might be fun but I really don't want to spend money on it lol.

I colelct for PS3. I go physical whenever I can but it can get hard to resist sales.
