Awesome-Kid : I do like Spyro games, but my favorite would be Guardian's Crusade because the game was so addicting.

The favorite of the ones I've played is Megaman X-4.  I still haven't beaten it, but I spent a long time trying to beat levels and master the controls.  It was a blast and an incredible learning experience.  I became a fan of the Megaman X series because of that game.  I didn't like Megaman X-5 nearly as much, though.

The Playstation 1 was the first console my family owned when I was around. I didn't use it much being young and we got the PS2 not long afterwards.
I remember playing Spyro the Dragon and Gran Turismo 2 but not know what I was doing. I remember my dad would always make sure I didn't save on GT2 since I kept buying VW Golfs on his profile.

We had a few other PS1 games but I don't think I played them properly until we got the PS2 when I was a little older and knew what I was doing. At this stage it was a battle between Spyro the Dragon and WipEout, since this was before WipEout Fusion came out on the PS2. I loved both games and played them more than the PS2 games we had. By not very much my favourite is Spyro, that game was amazing then and is still very playable nowadays.

PS1: Medievil series, Tenchu 2, Rival Schools.
PS2: Bouncer, Rogue Galaxy, The Mark of Kri, MGS3, Devil May Cry.
PS3: Last of Us, Uncharted 2, Ni no Kuni, Dark Souls

Those are some of the favorites from previous gens, far too many to actually list off though.

Ah, they are too many PSX games I like: Galerians, Kingsley's Adventure, Castlevania: Symphony of the night, Deathtrap Dungeon (even if it's a hard game, I kind of like it because it keeps the atmosphere of the Fighting Fantasy book) but if I have to choose one, it'll be Soul Blade, also known as Soul Edge. I used to own this game and have fun... until my copy broke

zanderlex :
I agree with you. This game is really good. I tried it when I was a kid and I couldn't beat that damn giant bird in the first cave (I do believe it was a stork). Several years later, one of my friends gives this game to me and I manage to defeat that boss and beat the game. Well, I was a kid, I want to point that out

There are lot of good games in PSX so It is very hard to say what is the most favorite one, but I choose randomly one. Ummm... I say Legend of Legaia because the story is very interesting and somehow sad. Fighting system is very different compared to another RP games I have played and I like it very much. And there is lot of things to do so you can spent about 60 maybe even more hours playing it. Recommend it to every RPG fans out there. : D

Silent Hill. It was and still is super scary, its story is deep and brilliantly written and its characters are iconic and memorable.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddyssee and Spyro: Year of the Dragon come close for having aged so greatly.

Since there were so many Spyro mentions, I will say that my favorite of the series is definitely Ripto's Rage. It plays well, there is plenty of extra content, cheats are fun but not overpowering, the power-ups are the best designed in my opinion, and the voice acting makes that of the first game a joke. However, Spyro is only my honorable mention.
My favorite PSX would be a close competition between Brave Fencer Musashi and Legend of Legaia, although I lean more toward the latter as being what got me into turn based gaming.
BFM has a well developed story with a shocking twist, fantastic mechanics (by PSX standards), and the first video game voice acting that I had ever seen aside from Mario 64 or Starfox.
Legaia likewise had a pretty developed story, great mechanics, and is quite challenging when you don't know what you're doing or how the bosses operate. Not much in the "twist" department, it still brings an attachment to the characters to rival (and dare I say surpass) its Final Fantasy counterpart. If anyone is looking to get into RPGs but does not like feeling rushed to pick moves you have a vague idea what to do with, or if you like the idea of learning and discovering attacks at your own pace and/or bewilderment, Legend of Legaia is for you.

Kanturu : Actually, it is playable on the site. https://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/game.php?id=34187 You'll need the PSX item to play it though.

Awesome-Kid - thank you for calling it the PSX, and not the PS1/PlayStation 1. It annoys me when people do that. lol The PSX and PSOne were different. The PSOne was a smaller version that was released in an attempt to get more sales (cheap Sony, cheap. lol).

Anyway, mine was easily Harvest Moon: Back To Nature (surprising, right?). After that is Dino Crisis. Those are both great titles that I'll never forget or outgrow. I still play them to this day, actually.

I haven't played too many PSX games yet, but of the few that I have played, I can say that Klonoa: Door to Phantomile was pretty fun.

I have 2 PSX game that are tied for my favorite.

One is playable here (though very few have played it) Civilization II
Be sure to check out this article I found about that game - it's a pretty interesting read.

The other is not playable here but it too is awesome, imo. Kagero: Deception 2
I thought about asking tRIUNE to add it to the list of playable games but it wouldn't work very well on my computer and would probably generate as many plays as Civilization II has up till now.
