Gary is the best rival in the whole Pokémon series. Don't even know who this Green guy is. But really liked Gary in the TV series, even if he was sometimes little douchebag, but in the end he is really great guy.

It's going to be Gary. He has been there battling Ash for a big chunk of time, and he was cool and strong. I only actually paid attention to Green in Pokemon Origins, and even when I did get to know Green, I still like Gary a bit more because he had been more involved than Green and he's basically who we all grew up with really.

So they made blue as a replacement but once they did the remakes they only made FireRed and LeafGreen since blue was never meant to exist.
