Which one of these do you prefer on things such as Nachos and all that good stuff?

Ironically, I personally prefer Sour Cream, weird I know ROFL!!

I love the Tostitos cheese dip thing for dipping nachos in, but I'd say Salsa .vs. Sour Cream is perfect for the thread!!

I love using salsa for my dip. I'm more of a tangy spicy person when it comes to products from wheat or grainy. Tomato and spices, what more can I get from a chip dip?

I prefer salsa because I think it tastes better than sour cream and I think it is much better to dip nachos in.

I'm one of those guys that likes loaded nachos, so I'm going to say both Salsa and Sour Cream, but if I have to make a pick, it has to be salsa, because that's the classic dip you use for tortilla chips.

I dip chips in onion cream or hot pepper sauce but I like Tzatziki most.

Definitely salsa for me...but nothing too spicy. Occasionally I do make a chip dip that has sour cream as one of the ingredients, but I don't make it very often.

I have to say I choose sour cream. For one thing, I don't really like Mexican food because it's spicy yet on the opposite side of the spicy spectrum in regards to the type of food I enjoy most often: Indian. Mexican food and, to some extent, Spanish/Hispanic/Latin-American food in general utilizes many of the same spices as my eastern ethnicity, but in entirely different combinations. Salsa is actually one of the best examples of this. Using tomatoes in curry is so unheard of as to be anathema to some traditional-conscious cookers.

On the other hand, I am a vegetarian who loves loves loves animal meat and fat, and is only a vegetarian because of ecological reasons, not because of "ethical" ones. I would positively die without the influence of dairy in my diet, and this is probably why I have grown to love it all the more in the past two years. I also know how to make sour cream from scratch, which usually (although not always) comes out better than anything you could ever get in the store. I use in with typical pairings such as baked potatoes and dips, to not-so-common pairings like with pork and beef-flavored rice when I cook for my friends. Sour cream is far more versatile than it appears in the American mind, and is definitely more so than salsa could ever be... at least in my opinion. It's a gods-send on "nachos" and the like.

Oh, and as tornadocam mentioned above me, taco salad is good. I use chickpeas now, but before I was a vegetarian I would rather die than put salsa on my beef! If the ground beef is seasoned properly, the cream makes a better pairing as an "opposites-attract" flavor than salsa, which is so spicy and overpowering on its own that the flavor of the meat is generally lost. The only time I would ever use salsa is when I really, really don't want to taste whatever is before me, such as in the case of cheap meat at a fast-food Tex-Mex taco-joint.

I usually go for salsa as I prefer the tangy flavour.  I'd pick it over sour cream any day!

I have not tried chips with sour cream before. It's such an odd combination to think about, so I'll have to try it sometime.

I know for certain that salsa is delicious with chips. It's my second favorite chip dip.

I would have to say salsa since that is what I normally have on my nachos or corn chips and stuff like that, plus I have never really tried sour cream before, let alone put it on things I am used to having salsa on instead. I don't really like anything extremely spicy, but that isn't the case for the salsa I use, it is just right and it is perfect for nachos or the tostitos chips. I don't really have those kinds of chips that much, but when I do I either use salsa or some of that melted cheese/queso stuff which is also good, not to say that the sour cream isn't, but I have never tried it on salsa chips before. 

This is a tough one because in my opinion, they are used in completly different ways. I am going to have to go with salsa though because of the spice and I love spicy food.

Awesome-Kid : I personally love Salsa. I try it and my mouth waters rapidly. I bite into it and I taste the goodness of the chip and salsa in my mouth floating down my throat like a river. But I also like Sour cream but I like Salsa MUCH more. :3

I'm not too big on the dip idea for chips in general, but I seem to favor sour cream to most if it is available to be used. Salsa is just a bit too spicy. Not a fan of spice.

This is a really tough choice for me.  I absolutely adore both, but I suppose it would depend on what I was using it FOR.  I don't know that I use sour cream as a dip, so much as a topping, either.  Unlike most people, I love spicy things.... the hotter, the better.  And as a combination?  The two are absolutely amazing!

Do people actually dip chips in the sour cream itself?  Hmm... If so, I find this fascinating and now I want to try it.  I always have both items in my fridge. XD

Depends, I like salsa on my tortilla chips, and sour cream on my potato chips. I will only eat sour cream on tortilla chips if there is also cheese, salsa, beans, peppers, more cheese, some hot sauce, and other miscellaneous goodies on them. Great, now I'm hungry.

Sour cream is literally my all-time least favorite food. I hate it more than I hate hatred itself. So obviously salsa, because salsa is delicious.

For me, it comes down to what I'm eating with it. If it's plain old chips, then I'd prefer salsa. If it's anything else, then I'd prefer either sour cream or some combination of the two.

I like both but I would have to go with salsa. Salsa tastes better with chips in my opinion and I get to eat it with a little or a lot of spice in my mouth.
