SUX2BU : The position would be based on whatever you earned the most CP toward. So for example, if the majority of your CP was earned by writing reviews, than you'd be offered a role as Game Reviewer.

We want to make sure that the people that get the staff positions really deserve them. Please play fair. If you received a DQ today, do not worry. You still have one more strike. So I still got DQ'd? Dang it... Wow, I really need to be careful with this competition. But hey, at least I have 1 less main rival (sorry, zan...).

zanderlex : I understand your point completely, and I even brought it up when we were discussing who to DQ. The reason we did it is because of what it represents. It is against the rules, and we don't want our staff members to get the job by cheating, even if they only cheated a little.

Oh dang... Well, thats a big waste of 2 game reviews.... I wonder if I should try to continue in this competition or not... I'm almost confused on why I got DQ'd but I guess I'll ask in PM.

tgags123 : AGHH.... It's the no notification glitch. I didn't realize I had 2 new PM's until I went inside my inbox just now. Ugh... I wasted 2 of my reviews. 

Just out of curiosity, would it make more sense to instead of DQing us, you just deduct all of the CP earned from ratings for that day so my reviews just don't go to waste? Please consider this. Thanks.

I'll say this as a person who added their own opinion to DQs, there's a no nonsense, zero tolerance policy towards cheating in the CP VCS.

I personally agree with this. It's not like we want to DQ people, but we don't want to reward those who go against the point of the competition.

This is a rhetorical question, but are you really contributing to the site if you just flip through the pages, and rate whatever you want however you want? Use your heads. The videos are generally 5 minutes long. That's a small price to pay if you are going to contribute. Reviews take at most, 5 minutes to read unless they are super long (1500+ words) which most reviews these days aren't.

Oh well. I guess this is my punishment for my dumb actions. Though I never intended on cheating, I still did break the rules, I guess. One day shouldn't be much of a problem, but now that I have schoolwork to do, competing will be even more of a challenge. So I'll just aim for top 3. I guess my lead is gonna be gone soon. 

Eurgh.... I did something really stupid yesterday..

I didn't sleep. For that whole day I wrote reviews... And the lack of sleep definitely got to me...

Half of my reviews didn't make sense to me the next day... Eurgh. Not doing that again.

Now I'm curios as to who the staff was who gave me the warning..... Ima just guess I guess.

I can't believe that all those hours were all for nothing and I ended up losing a valuable chance to move up in the ranks...I am ashamed of what I have done and it wasn't intentional since I had done it prior to reading the updated rules that include all the ways in which you can get a DQ. 

Nevertheless, I broke a rule and I hope to not make the same mistake again, because then I am gone for good. I am going to be a lot more careful and I am going to really make my hard work count towards the competition....

Well, today's being pretty boring. So far no one has done much and the day is pretty much over. I think all these DQs discouraged people.

TheFadedWarrior : That is understandable. But the thing is, there is a problem with making staff positions the prize for something like a VCS. Usually, it requires applications, and your general behavior on the site is looked at when considered. That way, the ones who get picked for staff are people who tend to be respectable, responsible, and mature. With this competition, that aspect is taken out. Heck, if thing1 wren't banned, he could participate in this and get a staff position if he won, despite his horrible history. So for this, we have to be very strict. Fact of the matter is, people have been fired from their staff position for trying to earn their quota by doing things like rating a bunch of stuff. So if staff members lose their position for that kind of stuff, then people who do it for this competition should get a DQ. 

zanderlex : We understand that rating and whatnot is very little of the CP earned, overall. But that isn't the point. Staff members are expected to follow the rules, and they get fired if they don't. So nobody should get a staff position if they resort to cheap dishonest methods to increase their CP by even a little. As I said to FadedWarrior, staff members have been fired before for doing exactly that just to help meet their monthly quota. If a user can't go one month honestly, then how is that deserving of the position? Don't think this ruins your only chance. When positions open up, you can always still apply the honest way. Being DQ'd from a competition isn't a scarlet letter.

I had 155 cp yesterday... Why didn't I get any points?
