Whenever I'm in a crowded area I feel nervous, do any of you feel like this and how are you able to cope with it?

No, I don't feel nervous, but I feel uncomfortable and claustrophobic when everyone is so close that they're breathing on me and when everyone is touching everyone.

While it might sound cliché, smiling and thinking happy thoughts might be a powerful distraction (for your mind) from your anxiety.

Yes I feel nervous while in crowds, but I have Autism so any loud noise (accept for thunder) or a large area with people make me uneasy. I have learned to cope if it gets too crowded I leave. If it is too loud I will try to leave. If I can't I put ear plugs in. So that is how I cope. I can relate to you cause I do not like a lot of people touching me either.

Well, my answers to your questions are simple. Yes, I always experience uneasiness when in large, plentiful crowds, and, from my experiences, there is no way to overcome it. This is only in my case, though.

I do and then I would feel funny. Or more like feel sick in a way. That why I don't like to be in crowded places or be in so many places where there are lots of people and such. Or I will feel sick in a way. I do try not to feel sick but, it still comes out anyways..

Only big number of people. 10 or more people in a close-ish space makes me feel really uneasy and uncomfortable. What I do is pretty much try to get my own "space" or get away from the group, or just pretend that only the person that is talking exist, while everyone else really isn't there.
It kind of works, but there really is no real way to overcome it, just learn to live with it.

At times, I feel nervous around lots of people but I am okay with it most of the time since I always get onto crowded public buses for college. I deal with these types of situations by either listening to music or staring into space. That way, it doesn't seem like all that bad.

I have a bigger problem with being in a smaller group of people that I don't know, than in a huge crowd of people I don't know. In the smaller group like on a bus, you end up having to talk to the person next to you about stuff you really don't care about. In a big crowd, people are more of a background noise that don't demand my immediate attention.

Though it depends what kind of crowd I'm in, if the crowd is surrounded by riot police or it's a crowd of zombies, I might get nervous.

I've learned to cope with crowds to a extent but I still find them highly unpleasant. Having an MP3 player or equivalent helps immensely.

All the time, especially in a place I've never been before.
I start breathing heavily thinking every one's staring at me. That's way I usually tend to stay at home or place I'm familiar with.

Sometimes yes, but I can conquer that feeling and still do what ever I was going to do. Facing my fears or something like that....

No, that never happens with me. I don't know why, even in the hugest crowds i've always managed to keep my cool. Though, things like ipods certainly help out.

Not really. I do feel annoyed at some loud and big crowds but I don't feel nervous though. Unless I was making some kind of presentation in front of that crowd on stage.... Then I would be nervous and shy. XD

Being in a crowded area doesn't make me nervous, rather I get more annoyed because I have to fight my way to get through, I hate being in crowded spaces though for other reasons, it's noisy, people are always moving,  and they just never shut up. I like being in a more quiet confined space with little to no people because I am just the kind of person that enjoys peace and quiet considering there is so little of it. It isn't that I hate people or anything, but I just don't like loud noises because they are annoying, so I tend to just plug in my earbuds in and blocking out the sound with my music....

Big crowds very much make me nervous. Sure, my IPod helps a LOT, but it's still there. It kind of stems from back when I was about 6 and lost sight of my parents. Thankfully, they heard me screaming my lungs out, but I still get nervous, and keep a sharp eye on my company and destination.

Not nervous, but uncomfortable. It really just depends on the situation. Like say, if it's so crowded that I can smell other people wearing too much perfume/cologne (or not enough of it), or if the area I'm in is indoors or outdoors, whether the indoor area has air conditioning or not and I can actually feel people sweating... I think you see my point.
