I'm choosing Wii, since it's the only console I've played racing games with a wheel versus using analog sticks. Of course, I'm sure that Game Cube and Xbox has wheels too. Some of you might even prefer the along stick versus twisting your wrist with a wheel.

So, what about you? What console is best for playing racing games?

I agree, anything that is analog oriented or has a control stick isn't really comfortable to me when it comes to doing a lot of moving in general. As for racing games, I am also going to say the wii because it is just easy to put the wii wheel around the remote and it is easy and feels comfortable as well, at least to me anyway. I just find it better to move like you would actually move a wheel as if you were driving. 

So that is why I chose the wii because it feels more realistic and also more comfortable for me to use rather than using an analog or control stick. Good question by the way. 

I would have to say that the best console for playing racing games is the Wii also. My cousin let me play it over at his house and it was the best experience.. I didn't like it to much on his XBOX though

It really comes down to the controller and the games available. The Wii has the best Mario Kart in the series and a bunch of other cool racing games, and supports the phenomenal Gamecube controller, so I have to go with the Wii.

Anything that is not a motion censor, and has easy controls. Something such as the Nintendo game cube controller. This makes game play more fun with easy controls, giving you a better over all experience with the game.

I really don't like any of Nintendo's controllers apart from the NES and SNES ones so when I want to really game I usually use something more along the lines of an Xbox 360 controller. I use it to play forza on my Xbox but I also plug it into my computer to play games I have for the PC including F1 2013 and Trackmania.

The 360 controller is one of the best controllers ever made (I think a SNES controller would beat it), so that along with the amazing graphics provided by Forza 4 and Horizon. You need it to look good as well because, let's face it the wii was little better than the consoles of the generation before the 360 and PS3.

Myself, I really love the Mario Kart series, so it's obvious I'm gonna say the Wii or something, right? Wrong.

I can't believe you guys. I think the XBOX 360 controllers are practically made for racing games. They have triggers that control your car's speed depending on how much you push them, as well as two analog sticks. What more could you ask for? Those triggers alone make it superior.

But, I guess, if you're looking for unrealistic racing games like Mario Kart, the Wii controller is better.

I love playing racing on wii...because of the wheel controller. It actually feels like your driving. (you might learn how to drive after playing many racing games on wii)

I say PS1 was very good with racing games because they had Crash Team Racing, Gran Turismo, Ridge Racer, and a lot of other obscure games that I haven't heard of probably, which are better than Big Rigs.

GameCube controler is the best one for this by far. The GameCube controler isn't awkward to use, and it fits in your hand. You also get an analog stick along with the secondary analog.

To be honest, the xbox 360.

For Practical Use?
Any modern console will do.
From the Playstation 1 and N64 generation to today's X-box 360 and Playstation 4 gen.
I like my X-box 360 but I am certain that when I update to a Playstation 4 my opinion will change as well.

For impractical use?
I like the old Coin-op arcades.
"California Speed". "Crusin U.S.A."
You can not beat a real steering wheel and pedals when it comes to racing video games.

I think the Playstation 3 controller is really good for Race Games, just plugin the Playstation 3 controller in ur computer

I would say the PS3, as I like the exclusive racing games that are offered on the platform. Modnation racers is especially fun. I also simply like using the controller, it feels so comfortable.

I think XBOX 360 works best for because of the shape of my hands. I just wish I had a Nintendo 64 so I could play Mario Kart 64 again.

Playstation 2. Forza Motorsport 3 was fantastic for the PS2 with all the different cars and tournaments you could do from Formula 1 cars to Monster Trucks. Also there is Burnout 1-4/Revenge where your objective is depending on the event win the race or come 3rd or above,smash all cars or even cause a massive crash where the more cars that get hit the more money you make. I used to play that mode all the time. Driven to Destruction is a game where you race in a car from scrap and similar to Burnout trying to smash other cars but you have to pay close attention to how much damage you take if you decide to do so. They are tons of different events like Car soccer,figure 8 race,figure 8 jump race,backwards forwards race,last man standing race where who ever comes last in a lap is out and finally the shortcut race. The game is definately worth at least having a look at. Though not sure how you can get them None of the Nintendo consoles are really good for racing games. Yeah there is Mario Kart but not much else. The Playstation 3 and 360 is good for racing games as well.

I'm just going to go for what I racing games I liked and that would be for the Nintendo 64. Of course there are better modern racing games but it's what I like the best that counts not what everyone else likes.

In my opinion, N64 is best for racing games. Not only is the control stick easy to use, you can also use the control pad for it. I also think its best because of the fact it has a lot of my favorite titles which are way more enjoyable for me than the newer ones. Diddy kong racing and mario kart 64 wouldn't be the same on a different system :|
