I'm turning into a poke-maniac and I don't know what to do! I have been playing Pokémon for a while now... I'm even buying merchandise! Even my little brother is turning into one! Should I stop or should I be proud of my poke-maniac side?

I don't see why you should stop. It's not like it's a disease or something to be ashamed of.

To answer your question, you should rather be proud, because the combination of things you like make you indivdual.
And you should only stop if it's that extreme that you can't do any not Pokémon related stuff and/or always buy so much merchandise that you have no money left for anything else.

Well, if you feel like you're seriously addicted and it messes up your life, you should stop. From what you wrote, I'm sure that's not the case. Buying merchandise and playing your favorite games isn't something that makes you a maniac. ^^

You should be proud. I am one as well and I've been playing it for ages now. It's my thing. Over 5 years in total and you will get addicted to it and you may play it for a long time. I'm glad you enjoy playing Pokemon!

You should be proud since it's not bad. I used to be crazy about Pokemon when I was younger but now I got used to it and the obsession died a little. The obsession will take a while to die out and it's a part of your life. I mean lots of people are Pokemon fan whether it would be die-hard fans or just casual fans. Don't be afraid to embrace that fan side.

Pokemon isn't for little kids because it appeals to everyone. I am in college right now and I still see 20 year old guys playing Pokemon and Legend of Zelda on their computers and 3DS. I still play Pokemon so it's not much of a big deal.

I wasted hundreds of dollars, maybe over 1,000 dollars of my parents' money on Pokemon cards.  While I had fun, I feel that the choice to spend so much on cards instead on video games or something with more value held me back from progressing as an individual.  I love the Pokemon series and it can be a ton of fun, but an obsession with it can go too far, just like an obsession with bananas, Gangnam Style, or Justin Bieber.  So keep that in mind as you play Pokemon, and have fun!  Just remember, a scout is thrifty.
