...I don't think that I really should be doing this but...I think that I ''felt the need'' to say some things...so, yeah, I saw the Disney movie ''Frozen'', and I'm not ashamed to say that I liked it, the movie contains a few laughs, a good story, some nice characters and...my god, Frozen is probably one of the most beautiful (graphically speaking) animated movies I've seen in my life, I think that the movie is more impressive than other 3D movies like Madagascar or Open Season...however, in my case, Frozen leaves you wanting more...in the case of little kids, maybe not, but some older people like myself may think that the fact that the ice powers of the main character are never explained could be considered a flaw of the movie, I think that the ice powers of Elsa need a backstory...and I think that someone in the movie dies during a storm at the sea (the PARENTS of the main character?), and that also needs an explanation...anyway, the flaws of the movie don't have a significant impact at the quality of the movie, Frozen is probably a very good movie in my opinion.

So, if you already saw it, did you liked it...?

My wife and I watched it last night. We weren't planning to, but all the reviews were saying it was outstanding. A lot of them claimed it was the best Disney movie since The Lion King. Then my wife's mom was saying how good it was. So we went. We loved it. My wife isn't big on buying movies, but she said that is one we have to buy when it comes out. It might be computer 3D animated, but it has the essence of classic 80's-90's Disney movies. If you are a Classic Disney fan, watch this movie. You won't be disappointed. It is very original and not your typical storyline. Very refreshing.

Also, lolid23, you shouldn't be ashamed to say you liked it. It was a very good movie.

rcarter2 : Don't you mean he shouldn't be ashamed? I watched it a few days ago, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. We saw it in 3d, and I wasn't expecting much from it, but it was actually really good. Everything about this movie was much better than I expected it to be. The music was good, especially "Let it Go", which is actually still stuck in my head, and I saw it on Wednesday. Definitely glad that I saw it.

rcarter2 : Don't worry, like I said, I'm not ashamed of me liking the movie, after all, Frozen is one of those movies that has been very well received, I think that you can't find a person that doesn't like the movie that easily and besides, you are free to watch what you like .

I did not see it because I thought it looked dumb and childish. My brother saw it though and told me it was funny and pretty good. I may rent it from RedBox when it comes out on DVD.

I saw Frozen with my friend a while back and I really thought it was a good movie and there were many funny scenes. There may have been something that confused me a bit though.

No, I have not seen it yet, but I plan to watch it soon. I have seen all of the fantastic reviews, so I can not wait to see it ! Better get to it quick, though, before it leaves theaters...

***This post is nothing but SPOILERS and whatnot***

lolid23 : I just saw it and although it was an enjoyable movie to watch, I must say that it could also be described as a depressing tale about the unnecessary lonely decade of those girls' lives. And I just can't believe how unnecessary the movie's main story line really is. Especially considering those trolls were referred to as 'love experts.' Unbelievable. Granted it was all the parents' doing how Elsa was taught to essentially fear her own existence. Even when she runs away and sings to herself she continues to quote what her father taught her about containing herself. Why on earth was there no focus on her controlling her power ? I know "people often fear what they do not understand," but it was also the advice of the elder troll at the time for her sister to forget and no one know of her power.... But why? It made those sisters essentially lose a decade of each other's company and accomplished nothing else. Stupid troll. Sorry, but those kinds of things irk me sometimes. I guess it's also a sign of great story telling to make you so attached to the characters.

ANYWAYS, to address your concerns about the movie, I actually feel that they did a great job of indirectly explaining everything. I mean, come on, it's a world of wonder and it even has rock-like trolls. The elder troll possessed his own form of supernatural talent. He even asked if she was cursed or born with the power. It would appear to be that such 'sorcery' may be rare in that part of their world, but was definitely not something unheard of. It's the little hints like that that kind of self explained her 'backstory.'
Also, it was her parents that died in a business/political trip across the sea. Not sure what further explanation you're looking for there.
All in all a great movie.

I agree with you, the graphics were amazing and I like the plot. Too bad they didn't show how Elsa got her ice powers.

danielbelitch : I see that you have a great post right there, I just edited this thread...just like my own mother, that also kind of bugs me, I mean...they say that that is something that they HAVE to do but...why did her parents abandoned her in the first place? And what were they trying to achieve? after that short scene at the stormy sea, the next thing we see (if I remember well) is nothing but the main character and her sister alone...not to mention that...Kristoff has an adoptive family of trolls...why?

This may not be good from my part...I think that for the first time I REALLY want to know everything. Even My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic bothered to give us an interesting backstory at the beginning of the first episode...it may be very hard to give an answer to all of my previous questions but...a backstory of one or two things...would probably be nice...

lolid23 : Well if you look carefully you can see that a colossal wave swallows the ship their parents were on in that scene. They were unfortunate enough to have died on their journey even though the father's last words were 'We'll be fine.'

I do agree with you about Kristoff though. I assumed that the men in the beginning were a part of his family , but I guess not. I wonder why or how he had no where else to go after seeing the trolls heal Ahna the first time. I know how you feel, though. Ever since I got into Doctor Who and had that show literally always explain every little detail, I've wondered why other shows/movies can't always do the same haha.

I couldn't go to the cinema to watch it so I did my plan B, wait until a month or so before you can watch it online. I was so desperate to watch the film. I watched it I was amazed......its just like the good old days back when Disney movies was worth watching. I loved all of the songs especially let it go and do you want to build a snowman. That song brought me to tears, there were moments that I cried a bit in the film. The storyline was terrific and if they put in how Elsa got her powers, That would had been an icing on a cake. I watch it again and again without getting bored of it. I listen to the songs I even sing it but, still remembering the death of Anna and Elsa's parents its just so sad....

I love classic Disney movies because I grew up with them. I stopped watching tv some years ago because nothing is worth watching. Like last year in august I was doing my usual check up, on what animation film will come out to the cinema then I saw that name. That's how I came to know about the film. ^-^

Liking Frozen nothing to be ashamed of. It's probably my favorite movie. Elsa is so preeeetty. And "Let It Go" is such a good song. And the fact that Kristoff wasn't the "hero" of the movie made me really happy. It isn't just about some dumb broad falling in love. It teaches children the value of your family members instead of "Find yourself a man."
