You mean clubs and sport teams? I don't participate in any sport (used to do Field Hockey last year though), but I am currently in the Literature and Magazine club. I was invited to see the first club meeting and I decided to join since then.

There are quite a few things that I have done. One of the biggest extra-curricular activities that I did was writing for my school newspaper and I loved it because you get to put something out there with your name on it for everybody to see. If you find an activity that you like, you should go ahead and try it.

Mr. Zed : Any school  would like to see people who are balanced and not only focused on academics. It benefits you in the future. It gives a good impression that you have good time management between academics and getting involved in something that you like to do. During my high school years, I helped some of my teachers during their free time. My clubs were the ping-pong club and scrabble then I got recognized for high participation in school service. I also worked for 2 summers so far.

I do running, swimming, current events club, and school newspaper. I love athletics and staying fit. I also think it's my duty to keep up with politics and current events than relying on parents or hearsay. I'm at an age where I can make my own political decisions instead of letting my parents make them for me. I do the school newspaper since it helps with my writing and coherency. I wouldn't be half as good a poster if I hadn't had prior experience writing.

I do cross country, I am in the art, and spanish club, I also like to be involved with school and enjoy the high school years because it really becomes a memorable experience in your life that you can look back on. So if you are in 8th grade now or starting high school  I would recommend getting into little things like getting involved with the yearbook or joining a club or something, at least make it so that you can enjoy your high school years rather than just going to school and then leaving. 

I am also in the SCA for my school. So I am involved quite a bit with my school. Hopefully you can also create cool memories of high school by starting off with little simple things.

I actually started my own after-school club with my algebra 1 teacher as my sponsor. It is called the Fantasy Games Club. Basically nerd club. We play a lot of Magic the Gathering, and we have our own official Dungeon Master for DnD! Starting your own club for an interest you have is a good idea. If it is possible, I strongly suggest you try to start a club for it. Just getting people to join is the problem. I also joined German club, but that is not often enough to be of any particular interest. I used to do ROTC, but I was not into it.

In my town, the Senior/highschool band is so small (around 10 or so kids, WITH kids from the elementary helping out) that it's an extra-curricular activity. I also take place in any community plays that I can and I also play Basketball and Volleyball.

I haven't done any school-related activities in the past three years. Back in elementary, i ran track and field. I didn't do too well, but it was worth the experience. Currently, I had signed up to be on my schools intramural softball team. I really want to play baseball, but I never played it before, so I feel that this would be a great way to start and a great way to have fun as well. Though I never played Softball either.
