sop281 : Oh my god, you don't like Zelda? I despise you. I'm breaking our friendship.

Hmm, although I like the gameboy Zelda games I never have tried the N64, NDS or Wii versions. Call of Duty can be fun if you just like to do random things but other than that it's not so funny. I will go with Sonic and Megaman. They are great games and although there are sure some parts I like about them they are just not my genre.

When I pick out games, I always look into the games extensively. I look at the reviews, I look at gameplay, so when I purchase games, I'm always pretty cautious. I hate being burned by a game, sometimes money is tight, so usually when I pick up game, I like it to some degree. This also results in a limited game collection, unfortunately. But, if I were to pick a franchise I did not like, I have two in mind. Call of Duty and Sim City.

I used to like CoD, I really did. I remember putting hours into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but I think things went downhill for me with Black Ops 2. While a good amount of people around loved the game, I despised it. I felt like the network connection always sucked even with good internet and four bars, and everything was just flat. The guns were terrible, this was the only game where I did not have a single gun I could stick with, they all sucked. Also, my feelings were the same with the killstreaks. But really what killed me was Ghosts. I hate Ghosts. I've never felt such passionate feelings that deal with such hatred about a game. This was the first CoD that I really followed. I watched the multiplayer reveal, I watched all the trailers, hell, two days after I pre-ordered the game. Activision screamed 'ALL ABOARD THE HYPETRAIN" and unfortunately I gave in and bought a ticket. They lied to our faces, the consumer. A bunch of the stuff they claimed were exaggerated. Remember when they claimed the pre-order bonus map, Free Fall, was ever changing, one minute it was like that and now its completely different and all these changes occured WHILE you were playing? Well, they forgot to mention that only occurred with the background. Remember when they said the maps were interactive? Nope, that was a lie. All they did was maybe ONE wall blew up for place to aim through or hatch opened up or something of that nature, nothing game changing. So, in the end, Ghosts was just another CoD, the same as always. And Advanced Warfare probably is't gonna be worth our time either.

Sim City isn't like CoD though. I love the concept of owning your own city and building it from the ground up, but I never got into it though. It was all to complicated for me and I could never catch up. I required something similar. I do appreciate it's cousin The Sims and I'm anticipating The Sims 4.

My least favorite is Call of Duty because after playing for a while it got boring and repetitive and the multiplayer would have screaming or raging 10 year old kids. Call of Duty is overrated and there are better franchises such as Doom. I used to like the game but now i don't like it.

Here's one you'd never think of unless you're a big Angry Video Game Nerd fan: The Atari Porn games.

I don't even need to explain this one. It's porn in an Atari cartridge. It was the game it feature the first damsel in distress, but...really? Why make this into a game? Didn't they have floppy disks for this stuff?

Basically all "pay" games. The ones that are prominently on mobile platforms and constantly ask you to pay money in order to advance faster. They are pluaging the gaming community.

Wow, lots of CoD haters here. I actually don't hate the series that much. The games are pretty fun, especially the zombie mode in some of them. Anyway, my least favorite series is the Half Life one. I've played 2 of the games in that series, and I don't see what all of the hype is about. The games were roughly a 5/10, but I don't see why everybody loves it so much. I mean, the games weren't THAT amazing.

alexanyways : For me, it would have to be the Bubsy franchise. It was just an average Sonic type plat former with an exceptionally annoying character. Why did the game designers deem it necessary for him to talk every two seconds? That to me ruined what may have been a somewhat decent series of games, with the exception of Bubsy 3D. That was total junk.

I don't like the Assassins Creed series. The first two games were made up of walking to area x and pressing a button on the controller or following some guy around a place to hear some story line. For some reason they are critically acclaimed and that's probably the reason I dislike the series the most.

The next few games were meh, they were better than the first 2 but out of the ones I've played (black flag and 3) I still cant enjoy the franchise.

This is a very common answer I know, but mine would have to be the Call of Duty series.  I just personally do not like the path the franchise set with gamers and the shooter genre.  I do not mind a war shooter, but getting a game that is nearly the same with every iteration does get tiring (even though that may be hypocritical of me since Dance Dance Revolution is one of my franchises).  I just do not enjoy the community of CoD, and as far as shooters are concerned, there are so many I would much rather play.   However, I will be checking out Advanced Warfare when that comes out.  I don't hate the franchise so much that I refuse to check out its new iterations.
