The amount of Viz you receive for doing stuff is affected by something called CP (Contribution Points).  You can earn more of this by doing stuff on the site, such as making posts, making game reviews (this is a quick way to earn Viz and CP if you're good at making them), and rating games you've played. 

You can also earn Viz by doing stuff for people here on the market or by donating to Vizzed.  For every $1 you contribute to Vizzed, you get 1,000 Viz.

Some people will give away Viz for free, but since you're a newbie and aren't close to getting a major item (such as Netplay or the Playstation item), most people won't give you Viz.  You might get a little to get you started, but you'll just mainly be encouraged to find ways of earning it on your own.

That Boomstick : By the way, you should've read some of the rules on the site. I'm 100% sure it says something about Viz. and to expand on supernerd's post, there are many ways to use Viz. you can buy items at the item shop, some of them are just for fun, and some of them are useful on the site. You can also buy rgr games (not irl, but on the site). Finally, you can use Viz to give to others and buy layouts.
