I didn't want to create ANOTHER thread about inappropriate ads, but the others that I found were all closed.

What do you guys think about this ad?  While the ad itself really isn't awful... I have a few problems with it.  First, the lady appears to be nude from a quick glance, imho.  I did a double take, thinking a completely nude woman was on vizzed's ads.  Secondly, it explicitly advertises that the site is for 'male gamers only', and even mentions that the game has mature content.

On a family friendly site, do we want such games advertised or promoted on vizzed?

It's funny because the game itself isn't even pornographic. It's just the advertisement. There are several articles where the site has been using ESRB's AO ratings, even though the game itself is not.

So what I'm trying to say is, it'll get taken down eventually... I hope.

Mistress : While I have no idea how ratings and such affect the ad being taken down.... I did know the game was likely not pornographic. I only got the link for the game in case David needs it to remove the ad.

There are many games like this that 'sexualize' their ads, and even if the game itself isn't sexual, I still think it's not right to have the ads up on a family friendly site.  I hate it that the game companies are so manipulative.

Yea... These are really such messed up ads. There should be ads related to retro games, not some messed up stuff like this. At least show some advertisements on games without any messed up pics in it. Even though someone can just get Ad-block, the ads also fund this site... soo... yea... unsure on what to do here. XD

Watcha gonna do.  With some of the sleazy methods advertisers use sometimes stuff like that slips through.  I think they do a pretty good job here at vizzed at keeping it to the minimum possible.

Those ads, I just don't know on what to say, I'm alright with the main computer because our main computer has that ad-block plus plugin so they won't be any of those adds (that's the main reason because of those kind of ads and some fake ads with the < Your Hometown's >  blah blah blah), but on my brother's laptop, that's a problem, and I have to refresh a couple of times to get it off.

To my mind, those game ads (the "Male Only gamers" and those games that advertised those ladies) should be banned from any access to any site where you'll also see minors on as well, because you know what will be messed up, you can have like a 10 year old looking for some hints for like Mario or Zelda on that game's Wiki page and all of a sudden, those inappropriate ads show up and you know what the parents will say to that kid, right. Look, if those games are advertised on porn sites, that's one thing, but sites where kids will be on all the time, that's just wrong.

I am pretty sure that that game, Wartune, is not a bad game at all (like, too mature for young kids). If they came out with regular honest ads, then it would be absolutely fine.

However, Wartune is certainly going at weird lengths to draw in players, using (almost) pornography.

Now, the website, r2 games, makes a lot of kid friendly games, some supposedly not kid-friendly, but in all honesty it is. I have played it (Crystal Saga), and it certainly was easy enough for 6 year olds to understand.

This being said, I think that since Wartune was originally child-friendly, I guess it was allowed for this site, but the ads they are coming out with now are very mature. I have seen some Wartune ads that specifically go into what the game is actually about, an honest ad, and that should totally be here instead of the revealing lady that has nothing to do with the game.

I have very little control over which ads are displayed. I've been in the process of finding a new company to replace one of the ad companies I currently use.

I tried disabling it, we'll see if it works.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
