The Friend Safari is Gen 6's answer to the Safari Zone. It is located in Kiloude City & is only accessible after you beat the Champion. Each 3DS friend code is assigned a type & 3 pokemon of that type so the more friends you register, the better. They have to have registered you to their 3DS as well before their safari will appear.

You can access two of your frieind's pokemon right away with the 3rd one being accessible after they beat the Champion. If they are online at the same time as you, you have a chance of finding those pokemon with their Hidden Abilities. Pokemon from the Friend Safari are also supposed to have two stats with 31 IVs for those of you interested in competitive battling.


This will be a place to discuss the Friend Safari & to post about your friend's types & what pokemon appear in their safari.

My safari type is Water & my pokemon are Panpour, Floatzel, & Frogadier.


Davideo7 : I know you're busy, but I wanted to let you know your Friend Safari type is Fire & two of your pokemon are Pansear & Larvesta, both 5th Gen pokemon.

So the type is completely random? It's funny that I got assigned Fire because Fire Pokemon have always been my favorite, in all the Pokemon games I've ever played, I always pick the Fire Pokemon as my starter.

So if you play in my Safari, you can catch those 2 Pokemon that you listed?

Serebii.net has a list of all possible pokemon that can appear for each type. Possibilities for your third pokemon are Ninetales, Braixen, & Fletchinder. You'll have to hurry & defeat the Champion for me to find out though.

Joining in this little chat, thanks to a friend I've figured out my type is flying, however I'm not sure which pokemon are located in mine.

That frogadier is really speaking to me, I heard it's pretty rare to have the starters in your safari.

FunnyFurret : Two of your pokemon are pidgey and woobat, I'm going to search for your third pokemon now since you've beaten the champion! Also I've learned that if a friend has X/Y, and they restart, their type in the friend safari won't change, just sharing this info.

The Friend Safari is connected to the 3DS friend code. The only way to change that is to reformat your 3DS.

You can do that through PM if you'd rather keep it on a need to know basis.

My type is a fairy type but I don't want to say my friend code

I will share my friend code if necessary, I am curious to see what everyone else has for pokemon types in the safari. I have water types and my friend said I had wartortle and panpour or something like that. 

I have Jordanv78"s and he has ice types, a spheal and a sneasel which are cool. And that's it, so I need more friends to add to check out their types.

My friend safari type is electric and I am told that I have Electrike, Emolga, and Luxio. Not much, but I think Luxio is slightly unique.

Sorry to be a bother, but I think it would be a good idea to possibly advertise this thread in some way so that more people may post on it.

my friend safari is flying types, my friend say that I have a flying type safari and I have Tranquill and Spearow but I don't know the other one.
Also not to brag or anything but I beat the game in a day.

Also I'm breeding Marvel Scale Dratini, so if anyone needs one I can supply along with Charmander that knows Dragon Dance and Outrage.

My friend safari is water type too. The Pokemon I am told I have are Gyarodos and Octillery. I am not sure about the other one yet.
