So my students have been having a lot of issues with graphing, but we really can't spend more time on it. We've already been graphing for 2-3 weeks and it's time to move on. However, since so many kids are having issues with it, I figured I'd make some videos and upload them to youtube. I had uploaded three, but two of them were not processed after HOURS of waiting. The second video I had uploaded processed within minutes.

So I tried deleting those two and uploading them again.

However, they WON'T upload!!!! It keeps going all the way through the 'upload' process, and then giving me an error which I THINK amounts to a time limit. However, I made sure the videos I was trying to upload, were NOT more than 15 minutes in length. I even tried 'monetizing' my account, AND shortening the clips to 5 minutes.

I've been fussing with this for 4 hours and I'm at my wits end. What do I do?

I spent a few hours making these videos and I don't want that time to go to waste. I'm an idiot when it comes to technology I admit, but I've reached the limit of my patience. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Whatever info you need to help me out, just let me know...



EDIT: Doubt it will help at all, but here's the second video I uploaded: What is a line?  It's 15 minutes, as you can see.

What type of files are you uploading? Some files take a long time to upload.

I don't think that's relevant.  It literally goes through the uploading process, and then a box pops up telling me there was an issue, and it won't "finalize" the upload.

Give me a few minutes and I'll try it again so that I can get a snapshot of the box error I'm getting.

(I think they're f.... f something.  fvl? fvi?  Something like that.)

Well, seeing how the steps you have taken are proper and should have worked, I do not know why they haven't. 

Maybe you could just burn the videos on a CD and play it to the students? I do that sometimes for projects regarding movies and such.

But the whole point is for them to watch it at home, not at the school. I can't spend more time in the classroom on this topic.

Singelli : All I know is that the few videos that I have tried to upload that didn't go through failed because of the type of file. Maybe they will work if you use an online file converter and change it.

EDIT: I have never gotten that message before.

tgags123 : But that second video I linked here is the SAME file type. I know that can't be the problem.

I'm going to try the only other thing I know to try and let you guys know if it works.

I tried uploading one of the videos to youtube directly instead of through the recording program I use.

At least this seems a little more positive, if it's just being 'queued'.  It's been sitting there for awhile without any progress though. Maybe this is an error on youtube's end and nobody can upload right now?    Gah.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see.  

Wouldn't Freemake video coverter work. You can convert it into a MP4 or a WMV so the file size is smaller. Was the faster upload video shorter by any chance? That could have something to do with it.

Mistress :  As always, I guess you were right.  

It's weird because.... I can't think of any reason my internet would have suddenly slowed down.  And pages were loading for me just as quickly as they were before.  I guess my internet speed was just that .... one millisecond slower that made a difference.

Anyways, been uploading the videos now and no issues, thank heavens!  I didn't get everything recorded that I wanted to, but at least I can upload what I DID record.
