Well the obvious pick would be Sonic but I also really like Tails so it's a tie between the 2 for me.
I also like Knuckles a lot and I'm surprised you didn't put Shadow on the list.

Well Sonic the Hedgehog is my favorite character (not just from the Sonic games but out of every game) but I love each of those characters and play them for different reasons. Sonic is just a well balanced character. He is fast and strong and just over all awesome. Tails can fly (awesome!), I also like to play as Tails in the Sonic games where Tails doesn't have to get the Chaos Emeralds to get the happy ending. Knuckles is tough as nails, he can glide and climb walls. Each character is awesome but I still like Sonic the most.

If you're talking about Team Sonic from Sonic Heroes I would say Tails he is by far the best character.. Second would be Knuckles and sadly third is Sonic.

If have to go with Knuckles. I'm choosing based in the Sonic 3 and Knuckles game, but Knuckles is much better because of:

1) His ability to climb walls. Unlike sonic or tails, Knuckles can climb up walls and take shortcuts that normally wouldn't be possible using Sonic or Tails.

2) He can glide across areas. Sure Tails can fly, but he gets tired pretty easily. Knuckles can glide across an area and grab onto a wall.

3) He doesn't have to dash into an enemy. He can just glide into them and his knuckles will take care of the rest.

That's why I choose Knuckles.

I would pick Knuckles.He plays so much better to me.In Sonic Heroes he can do some pretty cool stuff too.His glide is almost as good as Tails' limited flying to me.Sonic just annoys me with how easy it is to accidentally run into something with him.Also Sonic's super form seems like a super saiyan rip off to me.
