I know that arachnids (such as spiders) are not insects, but do you consider them bugs? I do. I think bug is more of a general term than a scientific term.

I use to consider it a bug. In first grade my teacher would always tell us a spider is a little bug, but then when I got into second grade my new teacher said its an Arachnid not an insect. My first grade teacher gave me false information!

I think they are bugs. Sure, they aren't insects, but they are still small, weird little guys that crawl around everywhere. I honestly don't think there is much of a difference between the two groups so I just call them bugs.

No, I call them spiders. Bugs to me are insects. A spider is an arachnid so I try to avoid calling them a bug. I know some people call them bugs. I guess because I'm a scientists I try to call things the correct way.

I don't call them bugs when I see them because that is not the proper term for them and I know they are part of the arachnid group, but I guess they could still be considered one. I don't ever call them a bug, I just address them as a spider. Just because they crawl around and look creepy doesn't automatically make them a bug XD, so I tend to call them by what they are, an arachnid or a spider. It doesn't really make a difference to me considering I dislike them either way.

I am with Eidetic on this. I usually call them bugs, but I know that they are not bugs. I have called them bugs ever since I was little though. I should probably stop doing so, but it can be difficult to come out of an old habit.
