I do by instinct in case I can't find a key (Which does happen periodically) but due to the way my mind works I don't need to look at the keyboard to type. I seem to have a memory that tells me where each key is on the keyboard without having to see it. It's the same for number padlocks. I don't remember my combination, but the location of the needle in the center.

Not really, I can look at the screen and type at normal speed without having to look down at the keyboard half a dozen times. I only look down on it when I have made a mistake typing and then once I am finished, I go back and fix it.

But other than that though, I don't really need to look down at my keyboard too much when I am typing something. I might make a couple mistakes from doing it like that, but it isn't a big deal and if I looked at the keyboard I would type really slow. So I don't normally tend to look down at it too much to be honest.

 I still look at my keyboard as I type even though I don't really have to. I think that it's probably just a bad habit I have because I never used to be able to get my eyes off of the keyboard. It's amazing how much faster typing is when you know where each key is. I learned their locations around six years ago and I never forgot. Probably because I type all the time.

I use to look all the time. My freshman year in high school they actually offered keyboarding classes and I took it. Taught me how to not look at the keyboard at all or at least very rarely. To some people it sounds stupid that I took those classes but it helped me so much and i'm so much faster with typing. I still make a couple mistakes here and there but I do so much better than I did with staring at the keyboard practically.

If I don't look at the keyboard than I'm pretty sure every word would have a typo in it, this is basically the only reason why I post so slow.

Nope. Haven't needed to look at the keyboard since I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. The only time I look at my keyboard when I am typing is if I am pressing one of the F# keys because they aren't in the same position in every keyboard and they aren't keys I use often enough to have that muscle memory.

I don't really like to admit it, but no, I don't have to. I memorized the "qwerty" keyboard, and I can type at a fast pace without looking at the keyboard or making a mistake. Sometimes I have to look at it if I somehow forgot a key, but that rarely happens.

I actually tend to type longer and more uncommon words slower than I type common words such as "the" or "ask". Longer words like "direct" take me a good 2 seconds to type.
