I'm an American. Do I have pride? hmmm... 

I'd like to hear what all of the members on Vizzed that are not Americans think of the United States and it's citizens. It seems to me that we just had the dumb luck of being born in the right place at the right time. Most of us eat three meals a day and complain about the cost of insurance. Our ancestors murdered and stole all of this land from the indigenous people that were here before us and then they had the nerve to make murder and theft against the law.

Just a reminder, if you are an American, your post matters very little here.

Isn't this kind of encouraging flaming?  I'm sure the mods are gonna want to close this....

I'd LIKE to take pride in being American. I know we have a lot of freedoms and privileges that other countries don't... so I certainly feel blessed to live here.  I don't know that I'd want to live in very many countries other than this one.

That being said.. I also think Americans are some of the laziest, most unmoral, most unappreciative, and least understanding people in the world. I don't have much of a basis to go off other than what I see and who I've met from other countries. The stories they tell really put Americans to shame.

Not saying ALL Americans are that way... just that it seems to be a lot of them.

I want to take pride in being an American and singelli is right, the mods are most likely going to close this after seeing it. America has many freedoms and privileges that you wouldn't find in many other countries, so I am happy and glad to live here. I enjoy it here.

Other than America I would like to live in Paris or Europe maybe. But aside from the point, I know the education, the economy and many other aspects of America are not the greatest, we are lazy, we are lacking in basic education and health and we have the largest amount of obese people in the world, but we are free and I enjoy being a an American.

Patriotism, or nationalism is one of the greatest flaws society has to offer. It only serves to divide people and ignite tensions, and the self-satisfaction it promotes only leads to complacency.
