So everyone in our school was recently made aware that over the summer, an aspiring artist filmed a music video at our school.  We were absolutely shocked... as nobody knew this was going on.  Anyways, over the past few days, the principal has been playing it non-stop over our school newscasting channel, so the beat is definitely stuck in my head.  LOL

Anyways, I'm like... super amazed. I mean, the video quality is that of any big music video, and the song isn't half bad itself. Plus, they made the school look pretty nice.  It's kinda awe-ing to know that things like this happen in the place that you work.  So I just had to share.  

Ironically, the principal chose to share this with us on the homecoming day where everyone dressed like it was the seventies.

LOL. mrfe.....could it be the perfect setting because of how very, very, VERY old our building is? XD

And wow!!! I just watched it and tried to pay attention to the small details.  The classroom they filmed in?  I TAUGHT in that room one year! And it's a little ironic that they placed "English 101" on the chalkboard. It's a math classroom two doors down from mine.  I paused to read the bulletin board and got a good laugh. You can see a paper that says "Mrs. Arcena" on it.  She was one of my favorite co-workers and closest friends on the staff.  She was from the Philippines and even brought me some native materials from her country.  Oddly enough, she actually left last year.  So seeing her name, while I don't think it was intentional, was kind of like a little tribute to her.

I miss her.

But yes.. such a catchy song!  I can't get it out of my head!  lol

(*eyes the potential stalkers nervously*  The lockers have been replaced this year. Don't try to find me by looking at those numbers.)

Davideo7 :  I know this seems weird, but I saw you poking around. You get so many summons work related. I wanted to summon you for a slightly different and hopefully more fun reason. Please don't be mad at me taking some of your time... surely something non-work related every now and then is okay?

Especially for someone I consider a friend? I want you involved sometimes too!

Singelli : The school that the music video resembled the style that the middle school I went to the last two years was built in. I believe it was constructed sometime in the 1940s as a high and junior high school, but the district eventually had enough population that a separate high school was built and the old high was left for grades 6-8. It still has "Bethlehem Central High School" engraved in the aging stone above the main entrance, which would confuse the other schools when their middle school sports teams would come to play us. In any case, real neat video!

P.S. I no longer live in the school district I mentioned, as you can see by my current location;

So there's a kid who attended my school that was homeless. He graduated last year, but now he's trying to get a scholarship to go to college. The scholarship he is applying for requires him to make a video about his dreams. He wants to open shelter / halfway house that's open to everyone in the city. Apparently, all of the shelters here only allow boys up to 12 years old, and girls up to a little older. There are so many homeless people that they consider the 12 year olds old enough to make it on their own.

Well, he decided he's going to make a music video since he likes to sing, and he's going to sing a song about lifting up, while showing a video about a young girl and her struggles in the city.

I was on school on Saturday grading notebooks when he came into my room, and he asked if he could use my room. I told him yes, and he said that they were filming a video for the Super Bowl! Apparently, this scholarship is going to take all the submissions and play them three times during the Super Bowl so that people can vote on their favorite submission.

He then asked me to play the part of the teacher!!!!!!!!!!

I politely declined, because I'm no actress. But I COULD have been in ya'll Super Bowl commercials. XD
I was in the background, so if he doesn't crop well, you might get to see me in the background somewhere. And it's filmed in MY very own classroom!

I don't watch the Super Bowl, so you guys are gonna have to let me know if you see me! ?

That song sure got some tune to it and P really like it, that song and all I seen in the video of your school, it's just a nice combination.

My goodness, haha it is kind of catchy and I kind of like it, my school has a song of its own and it is about pride and it is based off of that one song, I just met you and they showed it last year and it was kind of crazy but it was like ridiculously catchy like this one.


I agree with mrfe, your school has like the perfect setting to fit this 70's song, now thanks to you, I will be stuck with this catchy song playing over and over again in the back of my mind XD.
