3 years ago we had a High Score competition for a Pac-Man game for the NES but that was for the Tengen version, this one is for the Namco version. There were 3 versions of Pac-Man for the NES with the same name but with 2 different developers; here's all the versions: Pac-Man by Namco, Pac-Man by Tengen and than an unlicensed version of Pac-Man by Tengen. I'm pretty sure they're all exactly the game. You can find the 3 different versions as well as other Pac-Man games for the NES here.

VIDEO REQUIRED: You must post a video of yourself accomplishing the score you submit. You must use the RGR Plugin's built in video recording capabilities. The video submission has to be a single video, it cannot be broken into parts so if you recorded it in parts, be sure to merge them into a single video.

RULES: You MUST play the game using the RGR Plugin in 'Timetrial Mode' and take a screenshot of your top score from that by pressing F6. To play in 'Timetrial Mode', scroll down the page where the highscores would appear, you'll see a link that says 'Click Here to Compete for Highscore', click that. Once you've taken your screenshot, click the link near that one that says 'Click Here to Submit your Score' to submit your score. The video must be uploaded to the vizzed youtube account. The video submission has to be a single video, it cannot be broken into parts.


Prizes:
1st = 10,000 Viz
2nd = 2,500 Viz
3rd = 1,000 Viz

Haha. I take it the last rule is in response to the Duck Tale and Thunder & Lightning competitions submissions? Didn't the Duck Tales winner have it broken into like 5 videos?

rcarter2 : The new rule is because of the 1st place submission for Duck Tales, his submission was broken into 12 videos.

Ooooo, this is something I would like to give a try. Hopefully I can do well at this so that I can add to my accolades list on my profile.

Since the videos that we record are automatically broken in to parts because of the length, what is a good program that can merge them together?

What started the need for a video of these competitions?

Surgiac :   I wouldn't be too sure, but probably might be that David doesn't want any cheats by anyway, and that actually makes a lot of sense to me!!


LOL I've uploaded 3 different high score videos, not break into, just 3 full high score videos, but this is starting to get ridiculous though, I don't think I will upload anymore videos until the end of the month and then if I end up with a higher score I will upload the video with the highest score!!

Surgiac : There actually are ways to cheat for score and there have been users who have cheated and have admitted to it. Because of this, I have to require a video so that the competitions are fair and so that the scores are legit.

Davideo7 : Oh, wow, I've been using freemake to convert and diminish the file size but wasn't aware it could merge also! Thanks man, that makes things a lot easier.

Yeah I added those 2 ( namco & tengen unlicensed) as far as I knew, there is no difference -- but I thought that there might be.

I only think that there is a difference in the title screen, but I don't know.

My laptop will not record the video, everytime I press f8 it just saves a 5 second long black screen video. Is there an easy way to fix this, or should I just give up?

Awesome-Kid : Pacman is one of the few games where a keyboard probably is better than a controller because it's more precise and you're less likely to accidentally go a direction that you don't want to go.
