I was looking through the memberlist of vizzed. There are different members on here. Some were big members of the past that no longer log in, others may have been here a long time but didn't start posting till recently. There are some who just became members recently and are already active and quite well known to the rest of the board, and then there are some who just log in once and never came back again. This leads to my question. 

In your opinion, what is an active member on vizzed and at what point is a member considered inactive? Is there a specific set of days of not logging in that you would say "oh, he's inactive"? Does activeness depend on how many post a member make everyday?

(btw, part of my assumption is that an active member would find and possibly reply to this thread )

I feel an active member is one who actually makes the effort to come here. One who actually does something when they do, be it post, socialise or use the chatroom. Active members will get noticed and therefore noticed if they stop being active. Thing is, I think I'm describing a 'good' member more than an 'active member, but that's all my opinion.

An active member would at least check in once a week and make a post, and would have at least a couple of hundred posts.
Being active doesent make you a good member, the most active members are typically the most spammy members and I dont regard that as good.
Members that are both active and good members do occur however, such as elara or rcarter2.

An active member is one who bothers to come to Vizzed on a regular basis, and enjoys socializing when here. They're, most of the time, recognized, but that doesn't have to be the case. Many people are active, and yet they aren't recognized for it. So, my philosophy is, that if they come on regularly, and enjoy socializing, they're active.

Now, I also see you're debating about "good" members. Those aren't the same as active. They can be active and also be a complete party-pooper. Or they could spam for their "active" status. It does happen, in the situation where there are good and active users, but it's not as common.

Good question! I think an active member is a member that is on vizzed almost every day and posts frequently. I think a member would have to be gone for a month to be considered inactive but I'm not sure. The entire time I have been a member on vizzed I haven't seen anyone come back after being inactive for at least a month.

What about degree of activity? So far, this has been about the extreme end of activity. I am, I guess what you would call, moderately active. I do submit content to the RGR and I do post. I just don't post enough for the average user to call me active.

An active member to me would be someone goes on vizzed lots of time. People who contribute lots and lots of time and who actually seems to spend all there time posting and playing games. Some users don't come on vizzed yet they affected this site in many ways than one. So basically an active user is someone who did there best to help the site and enjoy there time on the site.

The funniest thing about this question, is that this question was also debated in my church the other day. What qualifies a member as active, or inactive? Is there physical presence what  makes them an active member, even if they do nothing? See, I was on Vizzed for a while before actually posting and whatnot when I realized the benefit in becoming more active. I think this also correlated to my church discussion. I finally asked, does it matter if someone is here, if they are so out of tune that they get nothing out of being here? I believe an active member should get more benefits, which in the church God blesses the one who is active in ministry. Maybe the same approach could be attached to Vizzed Board? Just an idea.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
