For me personally the Super Nintendo is the better one for several reasons. The first being the graphics. The graphics of the games was just amazing. For me the graphics of the Super Nintendo really shined in Super Mario World, Donkey Kong country series. Yoshi's Island, Mega Man X (X1-X3) and Mega Man 7. Second, the controls just felt better with the Super Nintendo. For me the Sega controls were lagging sometimes. Third, for the Super Nintendo you could by the super game boy adapter and play classic game boy games on the SNEs.  

Overall at the end of the day I think Super Nintendo was the better system. It was a good system for its nearly 10 year run 1990-1999. Many memories and great games.

I grew up with the Super Nintendo. They had the best games at the time. I played Sega Genesis before and I didn't like it. The sound and music were just annoying. I love both systems.My first was a Sega Genesis,but my dad traded it for a play station 2 without asking me or my brother.Even though the genesis was my first,I would have to pick the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.The colors are better,the music and sound effects are way better,and the overall games just seem better.

I feel like I posted in a thread like this a while back...

Lets start with this...

Every time I hear this comparison, that lyric comes to mind. Now to actually answer the question.

I would say the Sega Mega Drive (european/japaense name of the genesis) because I grew up with and it's just my favorite out of the two. I do still think the Super Nintendo was a great system. As for those saying the Super Nintendo had better games and Sega Mega Drive not having that many that's simply not true. The games on the Super Nintendo were just more well known.

The Mega Drive had some great games like: Sonic the Hedgehog  1-3 & Knuckles, Vectorman, Shining Force 1 and 2, Phantasy Star 1-4, Comix Zone, Road Rash, Altered Beast, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Aladdin (which while on the SNES was better on the Genesis IMO) along with alot of other games which i'm forgetting.

And yes the SNES had more capabilities graphically but like previously mentioned these capabilities were rarely utilised to such an extent that it mattered. In the same way the Genesis had faster processing.

I own both of the game systems,so this is very easy for me. Saga genesis is better for met the control is better and the games are better. Many people won't agree with this, but it just love the genesis.
