This month's competition is for 'Nintendo World Championships 1990' for the Nintendo NES. You can play it here:

This is going to be the ultimate High Score competition, which is why I waited until a summer month to host this. Not only is this the first (and possibly last) High Score competition to have a cash prize but this is also the first time we've had a High Score competition on a game that was specifically created for High Score competitions (this game was never sold in stores).

In this game, you briefly play Super Mario Bros, Rad Racer and Tetris, and your final score is based on your overall score of all 3 games. You also have a time limit (built into the game) which means that if you take too long, you wont get a chance to play all 3 games.


MEGA Competition:
This is going to be classified as a Mega competition because not only do 5 people get prizes but there's also cash prizes.


VIDEO REQUIRED: You must post a video of yourself accomplishing the score you submit. You must use the RGR Plugin's built in video recording capabilities. You can upload the video to any youtube account but you must add it to the game's page and also post a link to it in this thread.


RULES: You MUST play the game using the RGR Plugin in 'Timetrial Mode' and take a screenshot of your top score from that by pressing F6. To play in 'Timetrial Mode', scroll down the page where the highscores appear, you'll see a link that says 'Click Here to Compete for Highscore', click that. Once you've taken your screenshot, click the link near that one that says 'Click Here to Submit your Score' to submit your score. The video MUST be uploaded to the vizzed youtube account.

RULE UPDATE: You MUST play the games in order. In other words, no skipping Super Mario Bros.


TIP: You have to press start on controller 2 to start the game, which means you'll have to configure controller 2.


Prizes:
1st = US $50 or 50,000 Viz
2nd = US $25 or 25,000 Viz
3rd = 10,000 Viz
4th = 2,500 Viz
5th = 1,000 Viz

ummm...does this game work? I keep getting the first screen, but that's about it. Am I suppose to be clicking a particular button to move on?

play4fun : You have to press start on controller 2 to start the game, which means you'll have to configure controller 2 (I don't think that controller is configured by default). I'll add that into my post.

The current highscore somehow skipped Super Mario. I'm not sure how this was accomplished but will this be allowed and can we do the opposite as well, just play Super Mario?

jerryaberry : Yeah I'm not sure how you skip the first game. You don't have to play all the games, you can go about this however you want. I'm sure it's more beneficial though to play all 3 games as opposed to playing just 1 or 2 since your total score is based on all 3 games.

Keep in mind that your current score doesn't count since you don't have a video to go along with it.

I tried to play the Super Mario Bros. part, but it won't let me jump despite the fact that I did the configuration.  Help me out please?

It is very benificial to skip mario because that game is only a times 1 score, so you will get more time on rad racer and tetris witch are times 10 and times 25 score multiplier that way you could really rack up a good score

Davideo7 : One thing I never was clear on for this type of competition; is it legal in the rules to save and reload states (before you die so that you can prevent losing score, to repeat a question or match game until all are correct, etc.),
or does it have to be all one entire playthrough? Even if it has to be one entire playthrough, how would you be able to determine who has been saving/loading or not?

dragonslayer444 : How do you skip?

GuardianZack : No saving and loading would be cheating, that'd remove any challenge. Loading and saving doesn't work in high score mode and even if someone did get it to work, since this competition requires a video as proof of how you got the score, we'd know they were cheating based on the video.

Davideo7 : Good to know. At least we know that the competition will be fair for everyone. I've never entered one of our contests, myself; I'm not really the competitive type.

From what I read on the internet you have to press start on both pads to skip a particular game I tried it yesterday did not work going to try it again.

P.S do I have to use the recording software built in with the plugin as evidence or can I use camtasia built in one does not work so well for me.

Ok for some reason my its not recording on my computer idk waz up but i was still able 2 take a screen pic of my high score will still be counted or with out the video m i screwed
