I have learned to not feel pain. nor do I feel hate sadness. and it is very uncommon that I ever feel serenity. does anyone besides me not feel pain? should I be worried? I hope to find someone I can relate to. unfortunately I have yet to find one person. so have you learned to ignore pain?

Are you talking about physical pain or only emotional pain? Regardless, that is a concern. Many view pain as a bad thing. In reality, it is among the most important things we need. Without physical pain, you begin to have no concept of where you stop and the outside world starts. Pain is your body's way of saying it is in danger and you much remove or stop what is causing it. Without it, you essentially have no fear of harm. Without that fear, you no longer care. The concept of danger is something that you don't know. Fear is a survival instinct. Without it, you are more in danger than anyone around you.

But aside from the survival part of it, physical pain and emotional pain is absolutely necessary for empathy. Not saying you are will become a murderer, but a true psychopath is someone who literally can't feel empathy for people. They can morally kill or brutally maim someone because they can't put themselves in their place to understand how it feels. If you can't feel physical pain, you see nothing wrong with just punching someone square in the face. You have no negative response to it, so you can't empathize what the other person is feeling. Same with emotional pain. If you don't feel the pain of grief, you can't empathize with those who do. It will destroy your ability to have a proper social life or even a relationship. People who can't feel emotional pain are typically abusive on the emotional level. Saying/doing things that make others feel like dirt, people mourning over loss, etc would mean nothing to you because you can't feel it yourself. Empathy is the most crucial thing when it comes to having relationships and friendships. If you can't feel what they feel, being emotionally and/or physically abusive means nothing to you. Not saying you don't know it is wrong on the social level, but you can't truly respect why it is wrong. You no longer have the feelings that show you why it is wrong.

So to sum it up, yes you should be concerned about it. You said this is something that you have learned. If it is something that you can turn off, do it now. I know that pain is not pleasant and almost anybody would rather not feel it when it gets bad. But pain is the most important thing that makes us what we are. We have the ability to empathize, but that is impossible without pain.

I saw on TV once, information about a man who does not feel pain, not that he tries not to, but he have a roblem in his brain which makes impossbile for him to feel pain.
When the man was hurt, the warning of the hit never reached his brain, so he never felt pain in his whole life, people who look at it, thinks that not feeling pain is something interested, I personally thought it was soemthing interesting, but the man told everyone that he lives in a hell, the interview commented that he cracked his head twice, and yet he didn't feel pain at all.

My father told me that if something dangerous entered his body, he figures it out, it would be too late, because he would barely feel a thing.

And I am also agreeing on rcarter's comment here, while knowing something like that could be useful (talk about hitting your small toe on the bed in a winter night >.<), it should not be used often, as it could be dangerous for you.

It really depends on what the pain really is, some are really painful and others are painless. Mostly you all heard this, "Fast and painless or slow and painful".

Wow that sounds impressive to learn and just block out pain like that if you mean physical pain. There are some downsides to it because you brain won't be able to pick up on the pain and if it is serious then your body may not recognize it and it may just ignore it and it may be harder to heal and you may not have the need to be alert for injuring yourself meaning you lose initial reflexes and instincts on how to react towards injury. I can't really imagine being without pain and I don't know how it is possible to just ignore something that is a huge part of your life unless it is just a defect within your brain, but while it may seem impressive, it may also be a bad thing because it dulls your senses and instincts that you get as a result of pain.

rcarter2 :   I can selectively ignore pain. for instance. I tried ignoring pain. and then I beat my head into the wall a little. I felt very little pain. and I only feel emphathy for certain situations. such as my friend is currently banned and one of my other friends is going to be homeless. but mostly its the mourning part. if someone or something dies I just go "oh well" and go back to what I was doing. thank you. this gives me a better understanding of how not feeling pain isnt good in some situations.
and emotional pain. I really have no concept of it. due to my young age I have never had a girlfriend but if it is that hard to get over it. ill have to problem with it. but I do plan on having a relationship.

Emotional pain does not specifically mean love life. Emotional pain refers to any psychological pain. Such as the pain from the death of a friend or loved one, emotional pain from failure, pain from sadness, pain from anger. just any pain that isn't physical.

I know exactly how you feel because i no longer feel any emotions. Fear, love, hate, depression, respect or the ability to care for somebody. When people or animals die i don't feel any sorrow for them any more because death is natural so why feel bad about it? I just have no emotions left. It has all been taken away from me. I have so much physical pain that i can barely feel it any more at all. I am like you in that way so there are other people like you in this world.

jaws123 :
I feel no emotions because i have had so much emotional distress through out my entire life and when i reached the age of 15 i realized that i couldn't feel a single emotion except for anger and that even became pretty much dull. I have had so many physical injuries from my child hood and even to this day from all the tremors that i have which knock me back and i get pretty messed up from although i don't feel it. Just the other day i was playing with my knife and when i closed it to put it away i looked down at my hand and it was covered with blood and i didn't even feel the cut i had until i saw the blood and even when i knew that i was cut i still didn't feel it. It is possible not 2 feel pain at all if you have had so much of it that your brain just ignores it.

Well, I would be able to feel both physical and emotional pain. It usually depends on what happens, like if I get really hurt then I would feel pain, and I can feel sad depending on what happens. I have a friend at school who barely feels physical pain, maybe because he is strong.

Yes I can ignore pain especially if the pain has been going on for about a month than it starts to get a little numb.

Are you talking about physical pain or emotional pain? I have a higher tolerance to physical pain than most people. If we are talking about emotional pain than yes, a lot, I am a very sensitive, more so if it's someone I care about.

Anyways you say you don't feel emotional pain, which kind of concerns me because that means you don't really feel emotions (Sorry if I am being naive or mean about this) than that is pretty bad for you.
