What do you think of Big the Cat?

Personally I like his gameplay. I love how he plays in Sonic Heroes with Team Rose, I'm okay with his fishing sections in Sonic Adventure, and I like his character. I really like cats, and I like fishing. A lot of people hate Big for some reason, just because he's not super fast and such. Amy's not that fast in Sonic Adventure, but nobody seems to hate her...

Anyways, what is your opinion on Big?

I have never really liked unintelligent chracters, and Big is no exception. I feel his character is in no way deep enough.

I do not see why Big the Cat is so hated.
It makes no sense.

Sure he has no character development... but the chao don't either and they don't get that much hate.
Why judge a character based upon intelligence? I don't get it, you would not make fun of someone for being stupid or even further than that, mentally retarded. Okay sure he seems literally useless... but who else would have filled the spot on team rose in sonic heroes?
And I am pretty sure he did get minor character development during the comics.

Sure his constant moaning for froggy can be annoying, but based on design what do you think?
You want to judge him for being a giant, fat purple cat... which somewhat resembles Bagpuss.
I mean... come on the main character in the series is a blue hedgehog and his arch enemy is an egg.

Big the Cat may not be the best character, but is no way the worst.
and by the worst I refer to 06 Sonic and the " love " which I am sure some people will agree with me on.

fusionaceblus : Big was needed to meet Sonic on the Egg Carrier so he could give Sonic the sixth Choas Emerald. He was only fishing so he could find his friend. He had nothing to do with Dark Chaos until the end, which was where Froggy lead him. He;s an important part of the story either way.

Personally, I felt the fishing sections Big gave actually added a bit of challenge to the game. The rest of the game seemed a bit too easy for me.

Maybe not the actual required levels, but getting the rest of the emblems, where you have to catch massive fish to fulfill the goals, those were actually fun. But that's my opinion.

Big isn't that bad.

I actually like his gameplay at SA, Pretty different from the gameplay of the rest of the characters, which is mainly Speed focused.

Plus, they're quite challenging, especially if you want all the Emblems. It took me a while to figure how to catch the fishes the 1st. Time playing as him... Even after reading his Gameplay tutorial.

Personally, I don't find Big that bad. His SA1 levels are, well, not really fun. In Sonic Heroes, he's more useful in the game.

I actually like his gameplay in Sonic Adventure. I don't know why people find his game play so bad when the objective is pretty easy. Sure it doesn't exactly fit in the Sonic Universe but it's pretty good.

I think he was quite an interesting character.  I really liked his moves in Sonic Heroes but I really could have cared less about the fishing levels in Sonic Adventure.  They were really hard and incredibly boring.  He definitely shows more what he can do in Sonic Heroes.  

He's a funny dude. He is underrated in my opinion. He can be really chill and laid back. I think he needs more respect.

He's the most useless character in the series, IMO. He does little to no plot development in Sonic Adventure, besides the levels he's in absolutely suck, and the rest of the games he does..nothing. At all.

You know, in a way, he's pretty bad in the series but at the same time, he's pretty aright, it's really how you look at him. I like the way he looks, he looks really fascinating, but his actions isn't that good.

I think Big the Cat is a cute, fat, purple, fluffy feline. He's pretty stupid, but for me stupid is good. I really like Big the Cat, though he's not the best in the games.

I never really minded Big. I think he does not deserve all the hate he gets because he can be useful at times and he makes the games interesting in my opinion.

I don't like Big the Cat's fishing in Sonic Adventure, but in Sonic Heroes, he is alright. I also like looking for him in the cut scenes and stages of Sonic Adventure 2, because seeing him just makes the whole game funny. Overall, I think Big is an okay character, but there is a better purple cat that actually knows what they are doing.
