The trick about 16-bit music is it tends to favour the Piano and Xylaphone During moments when any other instrument would do better. (Plus it tends to abuse the horn section a bit much.)
If you remake many of the percussion instruments and re-work some of the string instruments (the Piano dominates allot)???
Then you have a great tune on your hands.
Capcom games have had musical brilliance for many years.
It is why we play them.
Or at least why I play them.
