Hey guys. It's megamanmaniac, and I've decided to make a thread about the NBA postseason. For those of you who don't know, three teams have already clinched a playoff berth (Miami Heat (51-14), San Antonio Spurs (51-16), and Oklahoma City Thunder (50-17)). How do you think the seedings will end up? Who do you think will make it to the NBA Finals? And finally, who do you think will win it all.

As for me if the regular season were to end the way it is today, that meaning that all the teams are in the seeds that they are now...this is how I predict things would end up...

W1 San Antonio Spurs 4
W8 Los Angeles Lakers 1
W4 Memphis Grizzlies 4
W5 Denver Nuggets 3
W3 Los Angeles Clippers 4
W6 Golden State Warriors 3
W2 Oklahoma City Thunder 4
W7 Houston Rockets 3
E1 Miami Heat 4
E8 Milwaukee Bucks 0
E4 Brooklyn Nets 4
E5 Atlanta Hawk\s 1
E3 New York Knicks 4
E6 Chicago Bulls 3
E2 Indiana Pacers 2
E7 Boston Celtics 4

W1 San Antonio Spurs 4
W4 Memphis Grizzlies 3

First, I think the Lakers can move up to the 7th spot. I'm also gonna take a wild jab, and say that the Brooklyn Nets will overtake the Knicks for the 3rd spot.

Second, I would say Denver would beat the Grizzlies. They have been struggling and I think George Karl will get Denver past that first round.

Third, how can you say that the Boston Celtics will survive the first round?? Indiana is a tough team to beat.

Finally, SPURS ALL THE WAYYY!!! OKC is showing more weakness this year and Spurs can take them down. For basketball enthusiasts, they would want to have a Spurs/Heat Finals matchup. I got Spurs in 6.

Hmmm... I don't pay too much attention to basketball, but I think your predictions are fair for this year. As soon as we know all of the teams, I will make my predictions. Just don't forget to summon me, please and thank you?

play4fun : These seedings are based on what they were the day I made the thread. How I feel they will end up is different. And to respond to your statements:

1) Denver does have a lot of depth but Memphis has proven that they can play very well without Rudy Gay. Denver may be good but they allow alot of points per game in a tough conference. They may have a good winning streak but their bench I don't think can perform as well in the postseason. Memphis, meanwhile,  plays amazing defense and are among the top in the league in attacking the offensive glass, giving them second chances to score. I may be wrong but I think Memphis can win.

2) The Pacers may be a tough team who can rebound the ball and defend relatively well but you have to keep in mind that the Boston Celtics are veterans who know how to win games they shouldn't win, and if not win, make it tough for the opponent to. Plus, the Celtics are a great on-ball defensive team through the athleticism of Avery Bradley and Courtney Lee off the bench. The Pacers are playing without the Granger they had last season, and the Pacers have struggled in games they really shouldn't have. Hibbert and George have to step up more come playoff time to match up to the winning attitude that the Celtics have. I think the Celtics can win a Game 2 type game on the road to win.

3) Spurs are a bit crippled without Tony Parker. they're playing well, but without Parker who will defend Westbrook when he wants to shoot the jumper. Finding someone good enough to stop Westbrook will be tough, and him being doubled can leave players like Durant and Ibaka open for a wide open jumper or a drive to the basket. It will be tough but I see an upset like last year.

I think the finals could be between the same teams again but Miami will not have a easy ride like last year the will have to fight for it this year

Looking at the records of the teams reminds me why only a few teams can compete for the championship, which is a reason I don't watch NBA, but that looks pretty fair. But I can't believe that the Lakers are in the playoffs as of now! They were the only thing people would talk about before, and they seem to lose every game. And for the finals, I also believe that the Heat will win it all again.

megamanmaniac :  Did you not see the recent game between the Spurs and OKC without Tony Parker? The Spurs dominated that game even with Durant and Westbrook scoring more than 50 points combined. Even today, OKC lost to Memphis, a contender in the playoffs. Plus, I don't know if you heard, but Parker has been practice with the team for the past couple of days and will be playing again sometime this week or next week. I believe that injury was a scare, but also a blessing in disguise, because Parker has been playing heavy minutes when Duncan and Ginobili were injured, and this would be a good time to rejuvenate. It also gives the role players more playing time and ways to adjust, because they have to be ready just in case they do somehow miss one of the Big 3 in the playoffs. Finally, I think the recent "struggles" (they are 6-2 without Parker) is healthy because it would not make them feel too confident going into the playoffs. Everything is coming back together for another run for the championship. My only concern is Ginobili, who needs to get back in All Star form.

play4fun : I didn't know that the Parker was back so soon. That does change my picks. But in all honestly, with the way the season has gone thus far, you never know. Besides, that bracket I made was based solely on how the teams played before I made it, so circumstances have changed. I'll make a post stating how I think the brackets will end up and such with possible standings in a few days. Until then, just know that anything can happen (except the bucks beating the Heat).
