So we've discussed whether the next gen is in trouble, now let's see which will do best. I say PS4, out of loyalty. lol

Eirinn : The xbox720, simply because PS3 security was very poor and was always getting hacked, and Microsoft in my opinion just makes a way better gaming console than Sony.

I think the wii U will get the price drop soon enough, then everybody will be scrabbling for it.

i think ps4 because you have to pay for online on Xbox and there probably going to stay that way

Sadly, wii u will not be the best-selling. I'm rooting for PS4. Xbox is lame.

I am going to guess the 720 (though again I don't think that's what it will be named). To my knowledge, Microsoft has a larger fan base than Sony, and because of that I think the "720" will sell more.

I really expect the new xbox to win, but I hope it's the PS4. If not the PS4, then the Wii U (I don't like the xbox).

Another thing: what was with the "360" tag on the second xbox? Shouldn't it have been 180? 360 is a complete circle, implying you're ending up with the exact same thing that you started with. Just a thought.

I honestly think it is too soon for a new console.

I think if all of the consoles wanted to get a breakthrough in sales reports then they should Hire "The Alpha Omega Sin"...(The youtube guy.) and wait till he clears the item before pitching it to the public.

That said.

I think the playstation will do fine if they keep playing disks and no D.L.C. needed to enjoy the product.

Eirinn : My vote is the PS4 but I will be honest when I say I have my reservations about buying it when it comes out. I watched the news conference when they officially announced the console. A lot of what they talked about looked and sounds great, there is no doubt about that. My issue however is the complete (or at least from what I saw) lack of mention with regard to hardware improvements over PS3. Specifically if Sony has adequately addressed the YLOD issue and also the problems last year which caused many hard drives (Including mine) to stop working.

I am of the opinion that the firmware update which caused the hard drive issue was done to boost holiday sales in a struggling economy because they released a newer, slightly more economical, slimmer version of the console just after the hard drive problem occurred.

I have been an avid Sony gamer for almost 20 years now. I love what they have done for gaming but I do believe as a consumer that they owe it to people who are going to shell out hundreds if not thousands of dollars upon the console’s release, not only for the console itself but also for the necessary hardware and, games etc. to make sure that the consoles are built to last.

Better technology doesn’t necessarily mean reliable hardware. As for me, I haven’t been able to play my PS3 since around September of last year. I am intending to buy a new hard drive and install it myself but I am waiting until I can afford to do so. As much as I love gaming on my down days, necessities come first and foremost.

Eirinn : Kids nowadays like violent games so the Wii U has low chances. The XBOX 720 is $500 plus you have to pay a $5 fee to put a disc game on another profile on XBOX. PS4 has good games and is a reasonable price. Therefore Sony is going to blow Nintendo and Microsoft away. 

EDIT:I was going to summon the Locals from this being from March, but the XBOX One and PS4 aren't even selling yet.

PixelBrick : I agree. The PS4 is going to dominate the market. I think the WiiU will do fine, simply because it appeals to an entire section of the game community that the PS4 doesn't. XBox one is in deep trouble if they don't make extreme changes, though. PlayStation and XBox share most of their games, so there isn't much reason to shell out all of that extra money on an XBox one.

And the bump issue is usually about how long it's been since the last reply, rather than the thread creation date. Though after they've been out long enough to show which is doing best, then yeah, this will need to be closed.

Yep, PS4 has a lot more going for it, games and specs-wise. XBox is just "money money money" at this point, and not focused on gamers. PS4 and Wii U are, and both of those have great games going for them. Besides, both are cheaper than the XBox, and again, have better games going for them soon. So my vote is for PS4.

Eirinn : Did you know that Microsoft reverted their DRM requirements ? That it's now just a bigger screened ps4 to put it plainly. You can trade games, give them away, without the fees they were going to incur normally.
and bigger screened ps4 means that Xbone will output to bigger screens, while the Ps4 will be a higher resolution.

I think the PS4 will be the best selling console because the Wii U has a low selection of games to choose from and I heard the Xbox One is going to be more expensive than the PS4. I've also heard a lot of bad things about the Xbox One that sound awful. For example, I heard the Xbox One will allow you to watch TV on there. Uh... hello! It's a TV console! What's the point of doing that when you can just use your TV?

PS4 just because I really don't like the xbox one style at all its too tv and social focused I just want to play my games
