Each school I went to was different, In elementary the food was pretty basic and it was good. In middle school the food was disgusting all we had was super greasy pizzas, and calzones and it tasted terrible the few days I ever did order one. I pack 95% of the time for school lunches anyway, but my middle school lunch year was the worst, the food was terrible and had no variety. The lunches were nasty, and the chocolate milk tasted terrible as well. But in high school I think it was the best, it had a good variety of healthy stuff and good tasting stuff, good pizza that wasn't just greasy cheese, good calzones, subs, spaghetti, chicken parmesan and a lot better stuff. So yeah I have had many terrible lunch choices with nasty food, but high school has the best food. I still pack and eat that more though.

I've heard that the food at my school came from a factory that packages frozen food. From that, it also smells gross. It really makes me sick. The food the teachers get is gourmet & is delicious. I REALLY think is not fair. But, oh well. Rules are rules.

I have to say, when I was in school, I never liked the school's lunch, because they're serving "healthy" food, and you know, by there terms of healthy if foods you know students won't eat. I remember that last school year, the Cafeteria Supervisor and the Superintended at my school I went to decided to replaced french fries with carrot sticks and all of us pretty much protested and didn't buy any food and then we made them serve french fries again.

It was so so. Actually paid extra for the better lunches. We had two lunch lines. The free lunch which were blah, and the paid lunches that tasted better. They had these spicy chicken sandwiches I would eat every day. Once bought 2.

Back when I was in high school the lunch was kinda spread apart. We had one line that was always pizza and breadsticks, one line that always changed, and then like a veggie wrap line. I always got pizza and breadsticks and sometimes fries from the other lines but to me, it was food of the gods. I'm not sure what pizza brand or whatever but it tasted good every time. I never had a complain about the food. However, since Ms. Obama has been cracking down about healthy foods i'm not sure how lunches are now. But man was it good for me at least beforehand!

My school lunch is gross! They serve soggy pizza which tasted terrible! Also I literally found a hair in one mashed potatoes they where serving and they where wearing a hairnet so I'm not sure how you get hair in the food. The only edible food was the hamburger which was actually very good but when they didn't serve them I usually pack my lunch instead.

Four years ago, we had plain sausages like the ones that go in hot dogs (without hot dog buns!) and this nasty soup thing filled with fish pieces. Now, it's rice and mango chicken, and pizza and french fries and all that good stuff. Best yet, the lunch is free due to a government grant! I don't feel it's worth the bother to bring lunch every single day if the school lunch is free. So that's what my school lunch is like. I think I'm one of the luckier ones.

A lot of the food was frozen and cooked in an oven. Fries, curly fries, pierogis, pizza and tater tors. You could tell that these were of average supermarket quality. Other food included wraps, hamburgers, sandwiches, boxed salads. Everything was always freshly made, which is a huge plus.
