My all time favorite Gen was III.RSE has a lot of original Pokémon. Unlike Gen II or IV where the Pokémon were just evolved and prevolved forms of past Gen Pokémon, Hoenn Pokémon are original and knew. They do not have any links to the past. Yes Kanto had original Pokémon, but that is because it was the first ever Pokémon.

The music of RSE is the best out of every Gen. The trainer music is ok, but the music for the Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and champion are superb. I have gone on youtube and played hour long videos of the songs while I do my homework they are so catchy. What satisfies me the most is that Hoenn's music was visible in most Gen III games with Gen I-III Pokémon. Pokémon coliseum, the anime Pokémon Advanced, a little bit of Pokémon pinball and Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness. Pokémon Coliseum did take Emerald's music, and has it playing at the Free Battle menu, and in Free Battles.

The plot also wasn't that bad, but it seemed too basic for me. Honestly, Heart Gold and Soul Silver have better plots considering they tie Team Rocket and the final elite four member of Kanto, Lance together, as well as giving you every gym leader of Gen I free to battle. I love rebattling a gym leader after I beat the game. I want to face gym leader's at their top notch level, except the PWT in Pokémon B+W 2 is a little too extreme for me since they are all really, REALLY, powerful.

I really like the third gen. My favourite Pokémon is from Hoenn--Metagross. You gotta love this mechanical beast! Just like port753 said, it was very original! Sinnoh is a good region, but there are too many evolution. They are good, but too many, nonetheless. Overall, the story was simple in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, but if it were released today, I would guarantee that the storyline would be a lot more clear, longer and much more interesting, and graphics would be "off the hook"! The music would be something that it would kinda show off, it could have been a little better, but I like it the way it is. Don't even get me started on how creative and influential the credits theme was. Also to add, the Kanto region was remade and put on there, which was also enjoyable. My second favourite is Unova: triple battles, 151 new Pokémon, good music solid storyline, etc.

My favorite generation is one because of the quality Pokémon in it. The best plot in my opinion is in Pokémon Black/White 2 , and the best music in my opinion is from generation 2, Gold Silver and Crystal altho mostly all the music in Pokémon are kinda bad.

Oh, this is a good question! I love Gen 2 because its Pokemon, its places (being able to go in Johto AND Kanto was great!) and music was awesome (my god I love the Kanto Gym Leader & Rival themes). However, I like Gen 4 for the upgraded moves, its abilities and the unlimited item storage. xD

When I saw Pokemon Gold/Silver were getting a remake, I was dying of happiness. One of my childhood games was being remade and essentially upgraded. Pokemon HG/SS is my favorite Pokemon game ever. The music was even better, item storage was unlimited and it was simply more developed. 

Gen 3 was also a good one, mainly because it INTRODUCED abilities, and my favorite pokemon, Breloom. Somehow, that Pokemon reminds me of Toad & Yoshi. =P
But my god, I loved that Pokemon so much, and when I finally understood the Physical/Special split after Gen 4, I was able to give it a physical Grass type move. I kept on giving it Solarbeam. xD
Also, I love Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness from Gen 3. It's not a main game, but I love the plot & everything. My only complaint about that game was that battles took long, but it's not a huge deal for me. =P

I like generations 1-4 basically, and maybe the starters of generation 5, and kyurem and some of the dragon types but other than that I am not really crazy about some of the Pokémon ideas, after the 4th generation some of the ideas started getting a little strange, an ice cream cone, vanillish? A pile of garbage? Seriously some of the ideas seemed a little desperate, I am getting Pokémon X and Y out of curiosity just to see some of the Pokémon there, but as for my favorite generation, I will have to say 2 and 3, I really like Meganium, Feraligatr and Typhlosion and also blaziken, sceptile and Swampert. I like all of those starters and some of the wild Pokémon you can catch as well. I just think that's when Pokémon was at its best!

For me, there isn't even a dispute in this question at all... Generation 1.

To be honest, all the Pokémon generations are amazing... but seriously, some of the Pokémon ideas are a bit "copied" or kind of tasteless. I mean, we have a Pokémon that is an ice cream cone, or even Rotom which is a Lawnmower, a Fridge, a spin Top, a hair dryer, and a stove...

Like, it looks nifty and all... but seriously, it's just a bit too much for my taste. Even generation 1 has some issues with Pokémon, but at least those made sense and we're somewhat reasonable.

Like for example, Geodude is just a rock... but he's a rock Pokémon, that makes sense.

But for the Pokémon Vanillish, it's an ICE or WATER Pokémon... but, it's an ice cream cone.

Like come on, some ideas are a bit too out there and some are within range of just plain odd.

First Gen is my favourite  I grew up playing it on my GBC and watching it & I find it so much better than the new stuff.
Best Music has got to be in second Gen - I love the music in the first gym xD

As with me, I also have favoritism for Generation I.

Although newer generations are amazing as well, it's the nostalgia factor that makes me appreciate Generation I the most.

Generation I was when I first got Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, or Bulbasaur... and man, those were the days when you got to LVL 100, you felt like a GOD.

Nowadays, there's just so many Pokémon... it doesn't even phase me.

But seriously, Pokémon for life <3

I started playing Pokemon back when it first came out, so for me it's gen 1. Though I don't dislike any of the generations, I just love pokemon Yellow, Red, and Blue. Though Silver, Gold and Crystal had a better sound track in my opinion and it was a bit more open, but overall I grew up on Yellow .

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
