Lots of great people directed movies, and a good director always makes for a good movie, so who's your favorite director?

Mine is either Steven Spielberg or Quentin Tarentino. Their styles are both so amazing, and have really defined modern movies.

My favorite director is so far Christopher Nolan. Hans Zimmer is pretty cool too but I'm not sure if he directed movies or not because I know he was a composer for many movies.

Yeah, for me it is just Steven Speilberg, his work is amazing, and he is super rich. He has made and directed so many excellent movies, Jurassic Park, Lincoln, War horse, Jaws , Indiana Jones trilogy, Indiana Jones and the Crystal skull, back to the future and so many other great movies. He is just an awesome director period. He is my all time favorite. I have seen a lot of his movies and they are all amazing.

Tim Burton, Brad Bird, John Lasseter, Pete Doctor, Robert Rodriguez, Andrew Stanton, etc. are some of my favorites, and 2/3 of the directors listed are from Pixar. I also like Steven Spielburg.

Jason Statham is my favorite movie actor. He is so awesome in ALL of his movies...and he seems to play the same old character. But the thing about it is that it never gets old for him which is why he is my favorite. Either that or Denzel Washington! He is a great actor as well...and don't play to much similar roles.

In my opinion, no director has, or ever will, live up to Orson Welles. The man was an absolute genius.

Sonic bros:I really like your taste in film. Some other directors I like are Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, From Beyond), Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead Trilogy, Darkman), Stanley Kubrick (Doctor Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey), George A. Romero (Night, Dawn, Day, The Dark Half, Creepshow), Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Mist), Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall), and Joel Coen (Blood Simple, Fargo). This is a bit long-winded, but I tend to get passionate about cinema.

Quentin Tarentino - Every now and again he makes something that I don't really care for but for the most part the guy has some original scripts. Even though some people claim that he rips off Scorcese. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

It used to be George Lucas..but..yeah.   Most will know why he is not anymore with out me going in to a nerd rage.  lol  I would have to say my favorite director now would have to be Joss Whedon.   I thought he did brilliant work with the Avengers and I have always loved most of his TV shows.

Simon pegg is really good. He made a trio of films that are very enjoyable to watch. Though the film alien was not brilliant. I think the best thing about him is the fact he plays one of the main characters as well.

Most people are going to disagree with this. Most people think he ruined movies/series etc. Most people think he's evil, and he was called the devil by someone before. He was all over the media for that. My favourite director has to be Michael Bay.. Oh my word. I love this guys movies. In particular, I love his Transformers trilogy. He really dedicates his time to his movies in order to make them spectacular. I find that inspirational in ways. Plenty of people found the Tranformers episodes amazing until 'Michael Bay ruined it by bringing out the movies'. To be fully honest, the movies got me back into watching the episodes. Went on a tangent there, lmao. As I was saying. Michael dedicates himself, is brilliant behind the camera, and really just a great director all round. However, he isn't the nicest of character. I met him once, me being a big fan I found this a priviledge. But. He basically told me to go away. Having said that to me, I still find his work amazing and I don't doubt him. He is directing another Transformers movie which will come out on the 27th of June next year. The title sounds amazing: "Transformers: Age of Extinction". Not going to into too much detail on that though. I know the movie will be BRILLIANT. He is an amazing director!

Mine are: J.J Abrams, Tommy Wiseu, Peter Jackson, and Joss Whedon. Whedon because he made The Avengers (Not the British spy flick). Wiseu because
Spoiler:
its so bad its good.
Jackson because I liked The Lord of the Rings. And Abrams because he made the last 2 Star Trek movies, Lost, and Fringe. (Fringe is one of my favorite shows) he is a really good writer. Almost as good as Stephen Moffat (Who doesn't make movies, which is why he isn't on here).

I also have to go with Spielberg simply because of the number of mo ies he directed. I would also pick Bay and Nolan because I liked all of their movies.
