This one is right on.
I think that it's wierd that you can't rematch your rival after your last battle, your relationship is just...over.  It makes the training horrible, especially because the elite 4 and champion's levels don't increase after the initial battle.

I always found it extremely weird that you just had to fight your father, also funny. But the actual fact that  fighting your father as a gym leader to actually progress in the game was odd for me, I could never picture it as my father in real life. Yup.
