I am just trying this out to find out who has the bigger fan base and to see which game is more sought after. This is my first poll hopefully more to come. My choice would definitely be persona. I chose that one because for me Persona 5 is a highly anticipated game for me, however I am a fan of all three so I am happy hearing any of the three is coming out with a new game.

PS2 had Persona 4,so they probably should make Persona 5 for the PS3. Get over it Atlus,the PS2 is dead! If i can't get Persona 5,at least let-me download Persona 4 from the PSN Store...or make a HD remix...somenthing like that.

I too have never heard of Persona. I had to look it up. It looks pretty nice...

But I'd have to say Zelda. Mario does have a huge fan-base, but i don't think they have the...intensity...that the Zelda games tend to bring out in people. Zelda fan-boys are hardcore, while Mario fan-boys tend to be more fun and lighthearted about it.

Although Persona is a great series, I'm positive that it won't match up to the sheer numbers of a Zelda Fanbase or Mario fanbase. Those franchises have had over 20 years to gather up fans. Pretty hard to compete with that. lol

I would go with Mario. I do not know exactly what Persona is, and I never did play Legend of Zelda that much. I have always been a fan of Mario Kart 64, and Mario Party, and a few others Mario games. So, I am going to go with the Mario franchise. Sorry Legend of Zelda fans.

I haven't heard of Persona either. And Mario has to have the biggest fan base. First, it has tons of different kinds of games, from regular side-scrolling, RPG, racing, and sports. Plus, it's more for casual gamers, as opposed to Legend of Zelda, which is more for hardcore players. Maybe Zelda has more intense fans, but Mario has more. Mario's fan base ranges from kids up to whoever played it as kids. But with Zelda, I think it's more limited.

I have know idea what Persona is , and The legend of Zelda is great but i don't play that much now , so i'm going with mario , I like Mario games better than anything ( except Pokemon ) .

No wonder the thread owner put Persona in the poll...it's such a great game. It feels like Pokémon mixed with Demons and Angels.

Honestly, Mario seems to be drying up slowly with the exception of its Super Mario Galaxy series.

on the other hand Legend of Zelda, theres two game series : Toon Link
the games being Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass Spirit tracks and such
and normal link being Ooc, MM, TP, and Skyward sword
each game has its unique style keeping its fan base huge.

As for persona, I've never played it.

No way that Persona wins this. It's WAY too niche of a series, with a loyal-but-ultimately-small fanbase. Compared to Mario or Zelda, it is a VERY obscure series. Also, Mario and Zelda have been around WAY longer to have gained notoriety across generations.

I mean, I love Persona a lot more than the other two, but it's obvious that on a global scale, it's nowhere near as popular. While Persona games that enjoy success sell over 3 million copies... a Mario game can easily sell 10 million.

Mario is iconic... a household name... Little kids know Mario. Old grannies know Mario... and everyone in between knows Mario. It has fans all across generations and demographics. I'd be hard-pressed to find a series with a more diverse fanbase.

There may have been a time where Final Fantasy had a larger fanbase in as far as how many actually fans but with how much that's dropped off over the last few years and how Mario continues to stay strong... I'd say Mario has the largest fanbase of any franchise in all of gaming right now.

I agree however now I am happy maybe I can introduce some people to Persona. It will never be what Mario and Zelda are, however I do believe it is a game series gamers should know about if only to play once. Its an awesome series to me. It combines a lot of elements I like in a game and weaves them together in a very nice way. Mario was my first game I played then Zelda. Then I discovered Persona now I have three I love to play. Not to mention other great franchises and series of games.

I described these 3 games with only one word!But I think there are a lot of Zelda fans!So it means it's a cool game!

I love Mario games, and the great variety they offer, but you just can't beat Zelda games. There's a reason it was voted the greatest RPG of all time. Well actually, it was one specific game in the series, but I fail to recall which.

For me Persona wins hands down, it's a great game series. 

As much as I love Mario seeing as I grew up with it and everything lol

I'm going to have to give my vote to Zelda.
In terms of keeping me entertained Zelda just posed more of a challenge to me, and I like that about a game because it means it will keep me busy for a while.

As good as Mario is It just doesn't cut it for me when it comes down to it, some Mario games have tough parts but not all.
And I find myself beating the game to quickly.

Somehow I knew Zelda was going to be number one.. Nice to hear from everyone sorry I am not on to comment much but I am glad this poll is turning out with some good comments.

The Legend Of Zelda is the way to go. I play Mario once in a while, but I think that Zelda is just overall a better title.
