Every Day I ask One Question to be answered.
"Bring... Me...Back."
I know it sounds odd.
But I know I was at my best a long time ago.
I make a prayer every day for this one request to who ever is out there.
I don't speak in dead languages so I do not know how to address the Almighty whatever Properly. (Which ever religion got it right. I don't care any more. I just know something is out there.)
I miss my Family every day. My Friends. And the the very things that made me... Me.
I just spilled the beans on my end.
How about the rest of you out there?
What do you Pray for? Regularly?
I don't judge.
I do not think anyone else will judge.
So Speak up.
Say it and be done with it.
We all Pray at some point.
What's your request for the Big "D.J. In The Sky" ???

I don't remember the last time I prayed.  I'm not especially religious even though I believe in God.  I don't pray because I go out and make things happen.  I strongly believe God helps him who helps himself and I go out in the real world and execute instead of sitting back and waiting for another person to take care of business for me.

Am I bragging?  No.  I am simply a man of action.  I hard charge and I do what has to be done to get ahead in life.  If I don't like it, I change it or try my best to do so.

in the off chance some of us do look back... (Fist thing in the morning for me...I'm a grumpy B@$#@#% when I wake up.)
I say a prayer and be done with it.
(I have to. It's how I live now. I like the person I see in the mirror. I wish he had a significant other from time to time. Some things work better with a team effort. Digg?)
Not every Job is as simple as "do this one thing and you get a cookie."

I dont pray but sometimes I wish I could see my dead friends and loved ones again. Though also at most times I think it is a wish best not to be granted.

Unfortunately, I do not make as much time for prayer as I should. If I prayed as properly and often as I would like, there'd be so much more that I could say. However, with the time I leave in my day to pray (the walks to work and home, the lunch breaks, etc.) usually it's the more important things that come out. They have to, because time is short.

What do I pray for most?  I find that I usually pray for strength, forgiveness, and a better reliance on God.  Consistently, these are the three things I find myself asking Him for.  I am so stressed out that I don't know what I would do, if I could not ask God for strength.

orionfoxgibson : In all honesty I make it a priority to pray daily at least a couple of times throughout the day. I don’t go to church and don’t consider myself to be deeply religious but I do believe in god and try as best as I can to maintain a relationship with him. I will also admit to you that I am not perfect by any means nor do I claim to be. My relationship with god has had ups and downs and there have been times where I have been very angry with god due to things that were happening in my life at the time.

As time as gone on I’ve basically come to accept that those times where I have been angry with god are part of the ups and downs that anyone will go through in life. The times that I’ve been down certainly have not been enjoyable but even when things have seemed to be at the worst, my faith has gotten me through it.

In regard to what I ask for well I don’t really ask for material things and try to stick to necessities. The last couple of years have not been easy so I pretty much have been looking to god to help me get through everything. My faith has been tested more than once but like I said even when things have seemed to be at the worst god has been there for me and my family. I also pray for forgiveness and pray for those who are close to me who may be going through tough times. I know it’s unrealistic to expect everything to be totally milk and honey all the time for everyone in the world but to me the world would be a much better place if there wasn’t as much suffering or struggling in general. I admit I’m sentimental but I really think things would be better if there wasn’t as much hardship in the world.

I also know the feeling of wanting to be back at my best. I’m a writer and even though I have done well I don’t consider myself to be anywhere near what I could be or once was. Dealing with the everyday stresses of life sometimes affects my writing especially when things seem to happen all at once. Although writing for me is an outlet it can also be very stressful at times in addition to whatever else life throws at you. When I am working I just ask god to let me do the best I can do and to help keep the stress and any potential distractions at a minimum. I know that may seem a bit silly to some people but I am the type that throws himself into his work especially when things aren’t going well otherwise. In regard to my writing I hope to be able to eventually make a decent living one day. It’s something that I hope will happen eventually lord willing.

Since there's no reason this thread should be relegated to 13 year-old and up discussion, I'm moving it to Christian Conservatives.


Oh, and what do I pray for? That people can be happy with their lives and their family. Love is all we have, but everybody seems to want more.

What do I pray for every day ?

I pray to thank god for all the many wonderful gifts he gives to us every day the sun(sometimes the rain), Electricity, water to my taps, Food in the supermarket, trees etc

I pray that I will be the man I know I can be not the man I was ( I was not in a good place before Jesus) and I pray for the health and safety of those I care about.

I pray that I can forgive as I have been forgiven even those who I do not feel deserve it 

and I pray that the strength that god gives me everyday can be used for his purpose.


or at least I try to pray for those everyday though maybe not in the traditional way sometimes I just say
GOD hello lord give me strength to just get up and take a step forward. and he dose.

 

RetroSteve :  Those are all very great things to pray for.  If I feel too busy, I'm like you.. I always try to at least say hello to God.  He deserves our time, and we should give it to Him.  Some days though, like today, God really puts a pep to my step.  i just.... feel God right next to me, you know?

I love days like today, and on days like this I can't HELP but talk to God all day.  Even during my breaks, I was singing Him praises.  God is good, and I am so in love with Him. I wish I prayed with Him every day, like I did today.  It really does make your day so much better.

Looks like I need to clear up a few things.
#1 I am not weaker than I was before.
#2 I Just ask the almighty for the kind of strength I had when my house was full of people.
You take a guy out of a busy house and into an empty apartment and the strength and drive that was usually there tends to fade. I say a prayer to wake up and remind myself to get to work.
#3 Anyone who thinks I got "weaker" should do my workouts posted up on the "Fitness Accountability" page (Started by "Singelli"). (I haven't even posted my workout at my job yet.) Do one of those every two days plus go to work and cook and clean and do all the other stuff that is expected of the average person. If You can keep up after two months? Then good. If not? Cut the chatter and spare the pity. I don't really need it.

I started this thread to hear legit requests from people who believe in something.

I did not want it to be only Christian Requests.
I Put this thing in the "Cafe Corner".
I was interested in what Men and Women Put in their Prayers from all over the world from all religions.
What Fool Could Not Process This With my First Post in this thread?
Anyway.
I was just curious to find out what people prayed for.
The reason I placed it into the 13+year or older Location is to AVOID the "Santa I want a pony" Stuff.

orionfoxgibson : praying for strength doesn't make you weak nor do you necessarily need workouts to be strong in my opinion inner strength is completely different. also no pitty here I'm a single parent so I'm plenty busy tho I do need to find time to get my ass to the gym hehe

Every person that posted did what I requested adequately. I just felt a particular tone when I read the posts. I do not like people being misinterpreting if there was any going on.
Back to the an issue you decided to put into play.

Single Parenting.

I helped my sister with her task of single parenting. I can not imagine myself doing that job.

I got nothing but respect for parents as it is but doing it by yourself is another matter all together. I think I'd begin praying to five different deities just to ensure I'm covered on the spiritual end of reality. Life sucks as it is.
I can not fathom bringing a new person into a world like this. The Economy is nuts (watch the news or listen to the boss at any job), the edjucation departments everywhere are nuts (watch what happens when you ask a random person that just Graduated what's the Distance Theorum or 5x5), and Every Other Country Hates the U.S. for some reason or another.
I can't bring a child into an adult with this kind of world. It's too insane for my tastes.
