I'd go with Larvitar. The thing's a little cutie and I wouldn't want to get too tough on the Gym Leaders by making it fully evolved, would I? Runners up would be Houndour, Bagon or Beldum... maybe Horsea.

We are assuming it is in the Pokémon world and not the real world, correct? As if we were in the world of Pokémon in real life instead of bringing Pokémon to our current world? Or do you mean if we were starting a version of a game, so our starter is just for game reasons?

If the latter, I would go with Eevee. It is well-balanced for the beginning of the game, and can be a good contender for late game. Will not make the game too easy or to hard, and able to build around it very easily!

If, however, I were placed in the Pokémon world and got to choose any starter for my Pokémon journey, I probably would want a chansey (or Happiny, if I can't start with a Chansey). I like the idea of starting out with a healer as I catch more Pokémon... plus, perhaps it could heal me along the way! WHY IS EVERYONE SO OBSESSED WITH MEWTWO AND CHARIZARDS. they are no the best pokemon i have had really low level fully evolved pokemon that have defeated really high level like my level 64 metagross defeated and level 82 machamp in one hit with no critical hits. but if i had to choose any starter it woyld be tyranitar because its so powerful and can learn moves like thunder and dark pulse and blizzard

I would pick latios as a starter if I could because of its excellent stats, its intelligence, and if you train it, it can be nearly invincible. I think legendary starters would be cool and awesome. Latios can learn great moves like dragon pulse and psychic, two very good moves. I have always liked this Pokémon and I would love to have it as a starter Pokémon. It would be very interesting to have legendary starter Pokémon!
