Hey people I guess everybody knows the old versions Pokémon Red and Blue, so I made this tread to ask how u had named Ur rival. It can be something funny or whatever :p

I always give my rival random names a lot of them are funny.

I named him blue you know from the manga

For fire red,just for laughs, ii name him shut up because oaks says shut up you can have a Pokémon too.

I usually called him the name that Ash has in Japan. That name being Satoshi. In the other games I just named them after their approprite character from the Anime.

What I name my rival is not really cool I just do like 1 letter or just one of my friends name :I

Simple, Loser!

I don't like giving my rival a stupid or immature name, I just tend to either take the name from the anime or manga.

Kanto rival : Blue... plain and simple I dislike Gary.
Johto rival : Silver, since obviously there isn't any other name to give him...
Sinnoh rival : Pearl was to girly of a name to be perfectly honest so I use the name from the anime ; Barry.

I don't see why people call there rivals stupid names :L

I used to name them something like Stupido, for stealing the Pokémon. After that, some other random names, now I name them either Gary, or Blue. For Gold, I still name him Stupido because that's just what I do now.

This question is pretty wide for me..because the name of my rival completely depends on the mood i'm when i start the game..
my yet another fire red hack rival is called jelle.
and i also gave a rival the name: Razor. From razor987 lol.
and i even give them names of real person rivals.
like someone who is now gone but was colleague of my work, he always called me mouse.. Because i was less  broad or big as him. As the matter of fact.. He was not even a 1/5 head bigger then me.. But he just had a lot of muscles.. lol
i his name was Mitchell./ Michael. And so is the rival of the game i'm currently playing the most "fire red generations".

this is off topic i think.. I think most of you are lol because the question was: what our rival names where on Pokémon red and blue.. Not on other games.. But that is just to be a troll. I don't think this is a big issue.. lol

I either name my rivals really silly or bizarre  names or I name them after people I know.

After one of my friends. We've established rival status in real life so we name each other after our rival in Pokémon among other things like friendly and empty "threats." That is why all of my rivals are named after him.

I always name my crystal or gold, silver fail cuz he always calls me wimp. All others i name A**Hole.  cuz in the beginning when he tells him be quite a**hole. 

I name my rival either their real names in the anime, or Ash, lol I guess I choose their names this way because I'm just a realistic thinker.

Easy.  I pick my best friend's name.  We both play pokemon, so it makes sense to cross the names like that.

I always named them the character they looked like, or if they didn`t then i`d leave it the default, like in the kanto games your rival was Green (in the original manga perspective) so I named him Green

Since all the Pokémon's I've played, the rival has always been a boy. I just had the thought of giving him a girl name , Like Amy or Jessica haha xD

I would give him a funny name like idiot or stupido but if thats not enough name him ur name BACKWARDS

I usually go with the first name that comes to mind when naming my rivals. Sometimes I'll use their true name, but normally it's whatever I think of and think is suiting for the person in comparison to my character's name.
