Of course most people will say that they love Pokémon, and I'm one of them. I've been playing it ever since middle school when generation II first came out. I've tried to play the newer generations but I just can't get the hang of generations III and IV. I'm still playing Gold, Silver, and Crystal and I will until further notice.

However, you could also say that I hate it. As you recall me saying I couldn't get the hang of generations III and IV, you could argue and say that I hate those games. I'm stuck playing G/S/C but I'm happy with just that. I don't even like to play Fire Red (the enhanced version of Red). I don't like how it has "Pokémon states" and "Pokémon abilities." I mean I kind of like it but not really.

I don't think Pokemon is a kid's game.  However, I don't understand the popularity of the series.  The strategy seems rather basic: just use whatever element the opponent's Pokemon is weak against.  For this reason I always found the series to be boring and repetitive. Also, having multiple versions of each generation is probably the cheapest sales tactic I've ever seen.  Anybody who wants to devote all their time to "catching them all" is going to need two nearly identical versions of the same game, or they will need a friend who happened to buy the other version.

Pokémon is like the ultimate game, there's so much to do; raising pokemon, defeating pokemon, leveling up your pokemon, battling, trading, and overall, there's so much in doing that. It can't possibly be for kids. You learn so many valuable lessons playing these games. Raising - you will soon raise a child of your own some day. Defeating - some days you're just going to have to defeat someone, whether it be physically or mentally. Battling - some day you're going to have to fight your own battles and it's up to you to succeed. Trading - most of you will end up working in trades when you're older and make a career in doing so.
