This may be an indication that Nintendo is finally going under. With the transition of fan-bases to increase profit, not to mention the flawed and unsafe method of their motion-sensor technology, I've been predicting their downfall for quite awhile. Their family-oriented approach never seems to quite match the functionality and usefulness of the fan-base flexibility of their competitors, as the other next-gen consoles put their features to shame. I'm not saying Nintendo is a bad company, as it was one of the pioneers of gaming, but greed seems to have gotten the best of them these past several years. I don't expect that they will totally be wiped out as a publisher, but they may get knocked out of the console race altogether before all is said and done.

Nintendo Power must of been good. I never subscribed for it, but a lot of people liked it. It is very sad to see something go after so many years.

Though that seems plausible, I don't think it's logical. Just because we have Internet capabilities on our phones, doesn't mean that TIME magazine stops publishing. You still have to consider the vast majority of people who either can't understand the technology, or simply can't afford it. Given the circumstances, Nintendo Power is a magazine about things which require some knowledge of technology, so the consumer focus is mainly on those who probably wouldn't need it in the first place. Still, I can reason that PlayStation Magazine, EGM, and Tips & Tricks are still in publication, so why haven't they ceased print? I stopped caring about NP after I realized how good Sony's games and systems were. (I then got game informer)

Regardless... Nintendo power is a testament to the good and bad side of Nintendo.

I picked it up today, they really couldn't pick a better ending. I can't say I'm going to miss the magazine because I have easy access to the internet, but I think that we'll be able to live without it.
