I pray before my meals. My father is Jewish and my mother is Christian, it's complicated. At least I made a habit of praying daily when I was young.

BluemageKyle : I don't ALWAYS, since I have two different family sides with different beliefs. My father's side of my family lives a carefree lifestyle, while my mom's side of the family is Christian. I just do the common, regular eating with my dad's side, but on my mom's side, we pray before every meal. So that would be a half/half, but since there's only two options, no.

LOL  TP system or not, I won't let something like other's opinions stop me from expressing my faith in God.  When it comes down to the nitty gritty, mother3fan5, do you value God's opinion or man's.

Let the negative ratings come.    I've still got God, and what more do I need?  



But to stay on topic?  I think we should pray before every meal. We should thank God for His provisions, we should ask Him to allow us to benefit from the nutrients, and more.

I pray before every meal..... when I remember to.  I often slip up though. I only slip up if I'm by myself though.  Although I got saved five years ago, I'm still a baby Christian, and it's a habit I still desire and need to substantiate fully.  That being said, I probably pray before a good 90% of my meals.

Singelli : Nice, I am going to see how long it takes for me to get Negative TP and then hear some Mod I never heard of PM me about it. I pray before I do performances with my instruments (I think I told you about the tons of instruments I play on your profile) and especially bass since I ask God for forgiveness of my sins, and make sure a angel is there to keep my family, and the homeless peoples safe and have faith in God- Also for a good performance, but that seems somewhat selfish.

Kyle, those are very good things to pray about.  However, you don't need to feel selfish about asking God for things you want.  I'm sure your parents enjoy it when you ask them for things, because they enjoy providing for you.  I know my own mother at least, asks me what I want for Christmas all the time and when I don't tell her anything, it makes her sad.  She likes to know what  I want so that she can provide it.  God is the same way.  God tells us to pray for the desires of our heart, but the bible also says that we are to make His desires our own.  There's nothing wrong with praying for what you want, but you should always be sure to acknowledge the fact that you are only asking for those things if those things are in His will for you.

I do pray before every meal. About two years ago, my family started to make sure we say grace before eating every time. I don't care about the trust points, because the whole thing is flawed anyway. If you get negative TPs, they should give a reason.  But back to the point, I would say prayers before meals about five years ago, but we somehow got out of it, and now, since we say prayers out loud, our friends and grandparents also say them more often.

Hello all! I think it would be ignorant to vote down someone's TP because of their believes! We all  believe in different things! Just because your favorite color is yellow doesn't mean you should make someone else feel bad for liking the color greeen!! ^^/

When I was younger I did. I had to pray when I awoke, before every meal or snack, before getting in the car,  in the car, at 8PM everyday, every Friday at 6PM then again at  8PM and before going to sleep. Now,  would much rather not.
I said it.... I'm not a religious person. BUT that doesn't mean I am going to go around being disrespectful to others for their faith. We should all believe in something even if that differs from the person next to us. We should  still respect them.

So, last night I didn't notice this was a poll/asnwerthequestiongthingy. When I saw it, I noticed the only respond for it was, “I pray before every meal".


Some of you are probably asking “So, what’s the matter with that?”


BUT, in case you didn't know. That is really offensive. How so? It’s like asking somebody what their favorite color is but only giving them the response that only you approve of.  Then…. “Please vote your honest answer, I can forgive anyone for their sins of lying, but not after I give them a chance of forgiveness do I feel I can't do anything to help them.”
That is really hypocritical of the creator of the post!!!!!!!

I don’t like that you’re acting like you’re better. As if you have never committed a sin but you have this ‘right ‘ to ‘forgive people’. Last time I checked, only God was able to do so.  And I don’t care if you forgive my sins because you are not God.

And to the rest of you on this thread. You are all saying that you don’t care about the TP’s because you have God. There is really nothing wrong with that, but you’re flaunting God like he is some new Sports car that just arrived at your front door. God is not something to be flaunting, I know this is a Christian thread and I do not belong here but I remember one time from bible study. It said something like, never show off God to other people because God  and your faith is not something that needs to be showed off. There is a difference between showing people the wonders of God but when you’re saying things like “I don’t care about TP because I have God.” It makes you sound (THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION!) extremely arrogant and like you’re showing him off as if he is something to be bragging not as something that you worship.

Resuri :  I didn't create the post, but I do agree that there should be more than one option, which is why I didn't vote.  However, I just assumed Kyle didn't properly set up the poll is all, and so I chose to respond to the question and ignore the poll.  The statement above the poll was poorly worded, I also agree.  I hadn't noticed it before.  However, considering his age, it's quite possible he didn't realize how offensively that comes off.

BlueMageKyle:  Perhaps you could reword it?  It doesn't come off very nicely.  Also, man's forgiveness means nothing.  It is only God's forgiveness which can save anyone.  So you don't want to sound judgmental by stating you can't forgive someone for lying. Remember that we are to forgive as Christ does.  The bible states that if there are people you have not forgiven, then He cannot forgive you because you have not followed His example. Show the love of Christ and remove that statement would be my advice. Also, add more options to the poll, as Resuri is right. I'm sure you did that by accident, but I'm pointing your error out in a less emotional and a more understanding manner so that perhaps you will go back and fix it.

Of course most people here hate Christians (or at least, Christians who aren't afraid to state that they are Christian, or Christians that defend their beliefs).  They don't understand our faith, and find it silly that we defend it.  They don't understand they defend their own lack of faith just as strongly as we defend our faith.  There's something about non-believers that think it's okay for them to justify their beliefs, while thinking it's wrong for us to justify our own.  When you make statements like you did in the poll, it doesn't help our case.


I personally was not 'bragging' about God.  I said that if people rated me down, it was fine, because I find comfort in my relationship with Him.  It's like saying you don't care if your co-workers gossip about you behind your back, because you can go home to a loving husband.  It's not a show of arrogance, but a statement about the things that are more important to you (worry about gossip verses having a happy home life).

I don't know what you are talking about in the bible, but the bible tells us to sing our praises of God to the rest of the world, and I have no problem doing so.  God is Amazing, and His works are marvelous.  I have never thought of myself above others, nor have I ever insulted anyone for NOT being a Christian. I don't attack people because they find comfort in their own God.  There's no connection between my sense of pride and what I find comfort in.

Let's also not forget that people generally choose a religion because they have faith in it.  It wouldn't make sense for someone to claim a religion if they had no confidence in the fact that it was based off fact, now would it?  Just as I believe Christianity is the most logical and sensible religion, there are also people that believe we were all created by aliens.  They defend their own religion because they have faith in it.  Their defense doesn't make them arrogant.

The exact same is true for atheists, by the way.  They think that their way is the only way and the right way, and they think everyone else is wrong.  Does this make them arrogant?  The fact in and of itself does not.  It's how people -choose- to defend their beliefs that makes them arrogant or not.  Their belief in and of itself has nothing to do with it.

Sigh... Let's not turn this into a pointless argument...

BluemageKyle : I suggest one of two things... add another answer so people actually have a choice... otherwise it isn't precisely a poll... Or just remove the poll.

Singelli : Just because you are a Christian doesn't mean people will vote you down... Obviously I can't guarantee this is a fact... But the people I asked about it never mentioned anything about your religion.. (this is all I am saying on this subject)

Resuri : My advice is that if a post annoys you in the future. Don't start a "discussion" about why it annoys you... Just ignore it and move on... In theory all you are doing is giving them vizzed... and the fuel to feed their fire..

Anyways just keep to the actual question... 
Do I pray before dinner ... Nope...  I don't even sit at a table when I eat...
What religion do I follow.... None... I am not committed to one religion or belief... Religion to me is something that is just there... it serves no interest for me..

Well then, I guess I shall be first to admit I've taken Trust Points. Not because of Christianity or religion, I'm not petty like that (Though I bet you're all thinking in your heads "DARN THAT ATHEIST CHEAPSKATE!"). I have rated down towards other things, such as post quality, overall TRUST, etc.
Just cause we/I hate Christianity doesn't mean that we/I will take TP away for it, and it doesn't mean it can be used as a lousy scapegoat for a pitty party.

That said, back on Topic.

Never have I prayed before eating. I've been an atheist basically all of my life. And to be honest, I'm one of those who find it silly to pray before eating, or doing anything, Nya~.

Unlike some others, I'll heed sonicmcmuffin's advice and stay on topic.

Kyle, you really should add more options.  You need one for sometimes praying, at the least.
