OK, so I have hit 20,000 posts, becoming only the second person to accomplish it. (finally, I did something before geeo )

For the past two years, I've maintained a 25.89 post per day average. That's gotta be pretty insane. Especially since I can spend as long as two hours on some posts. It should speak for itself though, so I won't keep pumping that up.

What I am going to pump is one thing. A story about someone starting on their first forum.

As some will know, Vizzed is my first forum. At least the first one I took seriously on a community standpoint.

I joined September 2010, when I was in college. This place quickly took me in, when I wasn't really fitting in there.

Vizzed is my home.

It's where I've basically lived the past two years, and it's here that anyone who knows me will have seen my growth and development from a bright optimistic 18 year old, into a cruel and cynical 20 year old.

It's where I've taken responsibility, and made both friends and enemies. I'd like to think I've made the right choices while I've been here.

20,000 posts.

Still kind of sinking in. When I started here, I had a few goals I wanted to hit.

-1000 posts
-local moderator
-be well known

I accomplished all those things pretty quickly, and all about at the same time.

When I started out, I had no idea I'd be here 20,000 posts later and richer, and one of the staples of the community.

In some ways, it's everything I've ever wanted, and everything I've wanted to avoid.

I should explain that, lest I have all ye badgers after my secrets.

What do I want out of my time here?

When I was starting out, I wanted to just accomplish a set of childish goals, and nothing else. Now, my reasons for being here are different. I want to be able to say I did everything I could to make this place better. I'm a very prideful person. I hate saying I couldn't do what I wanted to do. That's what drives me. Pride.

But why would I want to avoid any of this?

Because as far as goals go, mine is lofty, since it's not exactly something I can directly control. I can do literally everything, and get no help. I need to have faith in the community to grow alongside me. This place is only as good as we want it to be.

A few days ago, I stepped down. And now I'm a mod again.

People asked me why.

I'll tell you why.

Because I thought there was something wrong with the community, and people would take me more seriously if I wasn't the one heading it up. Thankfully, my prayers were heard, and things will be getting better shortly, at least from my perspective. That is why I left, albeit temporarily.

So I hope that puts an end to that.

But I've veered off from my original train of thought.

See, I never thought I'd be here in this situation, with this much time invested in the community. I'm online so often. And most of that time is spent at least idling on Vizzed, whether in chat or on the boards.

So this has been 20,000 posts of Leggy Excellence.

What's another 30,000?

I'm not surprised you beat me to it but I am a little sad. This is going to be one of those things I hit 3rd I guess. It'll take me a while but I'll get there

Still can't believe you got there as fast as you did either. 10,000 posts per year is pretty awesome.

Congratulations, man. That's a lot of posts to make in one place. I know I've never stuck around a single forum long enough to get close to 20,000. I've MAYBE gotten to 2,000 once before somewhere... but probably not even that.

Congrats to you. I have a feeling that the 20,000 post club will always be pretty small. I don't see many people getting to that point. If I ever do, it will take a long time. Probably another 3 years.
I decided to do that math here. As of right now (including this post), there are 677,868 posts on this board. That means that if you round it up, 3% of all the posts here are actually yours. That might seem like a small percentage, but the closest person to you (skipping Geeogree), just BARELY meets 2%.

Out of the near 300,000 members, I have more posts than 99% of them combined. Kind of staggering.

And yeah, I think 20,000 will always be pretty exclusive. Aside from geeogree and YourMajestyKen... I think the only other people with a real legitimate chance of getting it in the next 2 years will probably be pacman1755 if he sticks around for 2 years.

Congrats on the 20k posts. You're one of the very best now, I suppose. Now the only challenge left you is to pass David, which you can do.

Also, its nice to hear that I have a possibility to be the the probable 5th 20k user. We'll see where I go from here.

I just noticed this now, congratulations. I'm not sure when Geeogree will pass 20,000 but after he's passed it, it'll be years before someone else passes 20,000 posts.

pacman1755 : I'm sure he'll do it but I think he'll slowly fade away shortly after doing it, sorta like Geeogree did. And than when that happens, I'll regain the lead again.

legacyme3 : If you do use the decimals for percentage of more posts than anyone on the board, the percentage is actually 99.99%!

I did congratulate you before, (you probably never saw it in your profile comment box.) and I knew you would ever hit the 20k club. Sadly, I'm only barely 1/8th of reaching your post count.

Congratulations Leggy! That's a huge record to break. And only the second one to break it, hm? Sheesh. Well, guess it's up to Geo to get to 20K. Wonder who'll be fourth? Only time will tell.

I was wondering if you had even made a thread for this milestone. You wouldn't be "you" if you didn't make one, you narcissist. Well, maybe I should not be using such a word to describe you; you have shown us you are working to improve this community. I'd say you had been doing that ever since your fiasco and rage quit early last year, but to step down then come right back as a global like this is something few others (if anyone else) have done.

I know I'm not on on this site like I was before, but what hasn't changed is my appreciation for the work the staff do. Dude, what can I say besides "thank you?"

Tis a tad late, but congrats, Leggy! I'm really proud of you for accomplishing this.

I'm even later, but hey, you didn't summon me. What, do you think I'm just gonna come in here and READ a thread for no reason? Anyway, this is actually a huge accomplishment. In my almost ten years of devout forum history, I've never had a forum stick with me long enough to make it even past 10,000 posts, so you've really done something great here. Good job, man. Before you know it, you'll be resetting the counter to 40k.

Congratulations. I would say getting 20k posts is a common thing across the internet, but only at places that have been around for a much longer time. I think I remember seeing a few people with well over 100k posts at gamefaqs.com or whatever a long time ago. But Vizzed is still young and it took a while for it to gain this much popularity to acquire members who could spend this much time to get as many posts as you did. And yes, it might be another year or so before anyone else approaches that many posts. Vizzed is definitely as good as the original ACMLM board was way back in the day, and people are getting just as many posts.

Good work captain, if you were a fish you'd probably be 20'000 leagues under the sea.

Congrats leggy... I know this is stupidly late.. But I think I said congrats when you actually did it... So I guess this is just confirming that you achievement is amazing... and you never know in about 10-15 years I might get 20k posts as well
