Is there anything you would say to someone not sure about christianity? Any reasoning for christianity? I will say that history and nature prove the bible, as a topic starter.

Is this a thread asking for evidence supporting Christian beliefs?  I'm wondering because it's a little unclear, and there are other threads covering this topic.

Or are you asking how one would guide someone who is unsure?  As in, how would you tell them to approach and resolve their uncertainty?

Yes there are a lot of things I would say t someone not sure about Christianity.

First I would ask what their goals are in this life and if achieving them will matter in an afterlife (a life after death ). I would be curious if the person cared what happens when they will die.

From there they might say "I will be incarnated", or "nothing happens when you die; you just die". If you wan to believe you'll be incarnated, ok, if you want to believe you just die... nope - your spirit will go before your creator.

That's some stuff I might say in this scenario.

Singelli : I am asking what you would say to some one who is skeptical about the bibles validity, and about how you would convince them of it's truth. eg. Someone who is curious about christianity but believes it's based on lies. How would you convince them otherwise? This is my question.

I would say:

Christianity is not about traditions, or about blind allegiance to a doctrine...  It is about accepting the love and acceptance of God, who loves you so much that He gave His own Son to unthinkable persecution and crucifixion as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind.  To make us acceptable.  Christ will forgive you no matter what it is that you've done in your life, if you truly want Him as your Savior.  Mankind might not accept you for what you've done.  They might not even accept you for becoming a follower of Christ.  Christ even warns about your old friends turning away because of your decision to follow Him.  But none of that matters to you when you know that, no matter how guilty you might feel about your past, or how lost you might feel, how broken you might be, how alone you might be, Christ is there, and He loves you, and He doesn't want you to feel down.  He wants you to be with Him in eternity.  He wants you to know that He will be there, and He will save you from the blackness of the world that we live in.  It's not about being afraid of His wrath, or feeling guilty about your sins.  It's about knowing that Christ already died for your sins.  He already brought salvation to mankind.  He loved you in the womb.  All you need to do is accept His sacrifice.  He will save you from your darkness.  Just give Him a chance.  Forget the rest, and read the red words in the Bible.  They will lead you to the Truth.

DwarvenKnuckleBuster : Not everyone who asks questions asks them because they're truly wondering- they ask them out of spite, or skepticism. In that case, don't waste your time. They won't turn no matter how eloquent your arguments, and you can only pray for them. So, with that in mind, the first thing I would say to someone unsure of Christianity is: "Are you really seeking God and Jesus Christ? If you are, I can help you. If you just want to have a debate or try to shoot my faith, go look somewhere else." If they truly are seeking and want to know what basis we have for our faith, there are several theories we can point them to, but really, I won't confuse them with the ontological argument unless they're really interested.

If they are, I'd ask what the major thing turning them away is, and then respond. There's a million different things that it could be, so I won't try to fit them all in one post.

Well if they are athiest I would say well if you are right and I continue to Believe in GOD and do what I consider the right things it will make no difference BUT if I am right and you continues to falsely accuse GOD and our lord Jesus of being frauds what do you think will happen.

If they are worried about historical accuracy of the bible then I would point them to the fact that alot of the books in the bible were written while there could be other witnesses around to say well no that is not what happened and has a bunch of true historical fact ect

if they are of another religion I would look for similarities

and then finnaly I would let GOD do the work since if they truly want an answer he will give it

How does History and Nature prove the bible? There is nothing natural about destroying a trees life for the purpose of creating a book.

I would tell a non-believer that religion is essentially a man made culture and god/creator made man to write it down. That one should respect another persons culture just as they would want their culture respected. We all have different beliefs in different cultures and none are right nor wrong because to say another is wrong is negative and disrespectful to the person receiving such a verbal message.

mrfe : I think that the best way to enforce their beliefs in Christ is by showing them the scientific evidence.

It's one thing when you just believe the Bible, but it's amazingly powerful if you have REAL evidence to confirm the faith.
One example is how they found a shallow spot in the Red sea where the Israelites crossed, They also found coral unnaturally
cleaved to the remains of ancient Egyptian army shrapnel. What was so unnatural about it? The coral shouldn't have preserved the shape
of the various shrapnel.

If they are not a Christian, then they may not really care, then you need to get them to ask what will happen to them once they die.

It would depend on the person. I personally LOVE philosophy. I could give them multiple logic proofs, some I stole from people and some I created myself. However, if the person was well below average on the intelligence level or otherwise didn't care, I'd have to change my tactic. The one thing that everyone relates to is that they know their own faults. At the very least I can explain how, with the gift of Christ, we can actually approach God as a personal being and have a relationship.
