I would prefer the XBox 360 because it focuses online more than the PS3. XBox 360 has better controls and better games.

You should really change the original post to reflect the reason for this thread. Otherwise, it'll just be counted as an A vs. B thread and closed.

As for which one would be more suited to you - depends on what type of gamer you are. Do you like online play more? Do you like PS3-Unique Games? Do you like 360-Unique Games?

Me? I personally prefer the 360 because I like online play better - and the 360 has that hands-down. All of the games that I like are on both consoles, to the best of my knowledge.

Depends on what sort of game play experience you want.

Xbox360 is more of an online experience with mainly first person shooters or sports games.
PS3 if you want offline and with just about every other kind of genre.

I prefer the PS3 because of its exlusives, high reliability, and its blu-ray player. All of this makes it worth the cost.

I do not really favour one over the other.
I really wanted a sequel to "Conkers Bad Fur Day". That was the only thing X-Box had going for it. After Rare went to Microsoft. Now??
Who really cares?
I love my 360. It continues to serve me well. There is no real advantage one system has over the other. Back when it was Play-station 2 versus X-Box? Different time and different goals. The Play-station catered to the teen crowd while the X-Box seemed to go for the older generation gamer. Now?? They are both a tie. I went with my 360 due to practicality of cost. Folks at Wal-mart and Game-Stop were asking a ton of cash for the Play-station 2 when the model 3 was out. It was absurd. So, I went with the 360 months after the bugs were worked out. (Look up Red Ring Of Death on you-tube and check out the Trauma.) For guys like me this is good news. You know they will drop a few bucks off on the newest model that will not have any flaws. Just to try and keep the followers they have. I love mistakes. Particularly when it is done by people with more degrees and a ton more money than I can fathom. Not just one or two mind you, but an Army of them?
Priceless.
I now have a wonderful Game Box and a ton of cheap games.
Many more to follow.
I hope X-Box does not stop with the mistakes.

I've always been a Playstation person and there are pluses to both but being an owner of both I can't choose, but if you want good online go with 360 but there you have to pay to play online unlike with PS3 you can play online for free.  Honestly I'd go with PS3 if you like playing online seeing as it costs nothing, but i agree 360 does have some better parts online too... It all depends on how much money you're willing to spend.

Both. The 360 has a great controller, and pretty nice games too. The PS3 has a Blu Ray player, and has exclusive games that are somewhat worth it.

I think the best system of the two is the X-box 360. 
This game is just better overall.

Honestly the debate shouldn't on whether the PS3 is better or the  XBox 360 is better. When I first got my XBox 360, I got it with intent to play with my friends and have fun. But now all my friends switched system and they all play on the PS3 while I'm still on the 360. So if you had to pick between either one of those systems id go with the system that most your friends have. In my opinion, I like the 360 better, but with the next gen consoles coming out soon, I've decided that im going to buy the PS4, because that is what most my friends are getting. Think about like this, the main purpose of online video gaming is to play with people and who would you like to play with more complete strangers or your friends? So i'm just saying that you should buy the system that your friends have so that you can have fun with them.
P.S. like I also said the next gen consoles are going to be released soon too, so maybe you want to wait for a newer system to come out so you don't waste your money now, but i mean that's just me lol
